She is a goth girl who looks to be no older then 15. Her brown hair is obviously well-cared for, and comes down to her mid-back. Her dark brown eyes contrast against her skin, which is either naturally that pale or powdered well. Her lips are painted black with lipstick and her eyebrows are darkened to a coal black. She is dressed in a black sleeveless dress that hangs below a knee-high black coat of imitation leather. Draped from her neck is a stylized silver ankh hanging on a small, fragile silver chain. The jacket is buttoned in the middle to prevent the wind from taking it. Her hands are buried deeply in the pockets.

HISTORY

Born in 1964 as an only child to a rather unhappy household, Jessica was left to her own devices most of the time. She quickly developed an independent streak which gave her the impetuous to leave the house off on her own whenever things got too rough at home. When she was 12, her parents decided they couldn't live with each other any longer, and went their separate ways.

After nearly a year of bloody court battles over custody, she was sent instead to a mutual friend of her parents who lived in virginia. Unbenownst to them, this friend was a vampire who was living as a hermit while trying to recreate the library he had after an unfortunate fire a few years back. He took her under his wing, and began to try to "teach her right". This did not include, by any means, the knowledge of his nightly affairs. But he did use her to gather useful materials and other daytime activities.

She didn't like him from day one. He was weird, kept strange hours, acted as if she didn't matter to him, and generally treated her like a slave. The only real redeeming fact of him was that he did keep her in a nice house with plenty of neat books. When he discovered that she was reading his materials, after just over a year of servitude, he was livid. In a fit of near frenzy, he locked her up, until he could think of what to do. He thought of killing her, in fact he had the knife out for just that before he realized what she meant to him. It's not that he had felt the investment of the past year, but her parents were somewhat special to him, and she represented them to him.

He embraced her. She was a secret for much of the 20 years they stayed together after that. He used his hermit tendencies to not only keep his activities from the local vampires, but now to keep his progeny from the watchful eyes of his covenant. From there, he began to teach her of how to be a vampire. She learned to mold minds of the weak and some of her sire's blood magic. Really the only joy she found in her sire's teachings was the little knife-fighting he taught her as self-defense.

All this time, she held a hot coal of hate for him. He was teaching her now, but still she was the inferior and he would often remind her what would happen if the prince or the covenant knew about her. For these mental mind-games, he would pay.

***

It was a cool september evening. The trees had been losing their leaves now for quite a while, and most were bare. Lately the evening air has had this cold underbite to it, no matter how warm you were. Jessica had been planning this for nearly three months, and it was time to set things in motion. She went feeding while he studied in the den. He only went out every few days, while she preferred to feed every other day. That night she fed on the kind of youth that you would expect to rebel against society and rob people on the cold dark evening and she took his knife when she was done. When she came back, he was still there, poring over a book on demonology.

She crept up behind him with her knife palmed and behind her. With a sudden movement she slashed his neck. With a half strangled roar, he stood up, twisted, and his backhand threw her across the room. Blood trailed from his open wound like a sprinkler. While she was still dazed, he was hunched over holding his neck. As the wound healed, he watched her with a growl in his voice. She got up and readied for an onslaught from him. He leapt into a blood frenzy and rushed her. She ran outside, ditching the knife on the way out of the house and him hot on her trail. Into the woods surrounding the home she went, him leaping after her like an animal chasing it's food. He was almost onto her when she tripped a carefully laid trap, sending a shaft of wood from a makeshift crossbow into his chest. It missed his heart, but was enough to trip him up and he fell face first onto the leafy ground.

Panting from the exertion, and a slight blood sweat worked up, she moved towards him with a stick in hand. Just as she was almost within arms reach, his body roared into life again and scrabbled towards her. She shrieked in surprise and activated her magic to solidify his body. Greatly slowed by her magic, He could not stop her when she plunged the stick into his heart. She sat there for quite a while before getting up again, leaving him there to wait for the morning.

Within hours she was out of the house with all she cared about. She had a plan and very few items. Move away, live off what she could get from him and rob those she fed on for the rest. Hopefully he wouldn't be the wiser as to where she had gone. Just in case, she had moved from city to city. Live in one for a few days, and then leave with no particular place to go. She did this for about a month.

Then she went to St. Louis.

***

St. Louis was a city with a problem. The prince had appointed a sherriff whom none of the inhabitants liked. He was strong-minded, given to mental torture, had no regard for whom he blood-bound, and was the top of many people's "Kill" lists.

Jessica's first introduction to him was when she was in a small eatery eavesdropping. Two of the local inhabitants were discussing a person named Walter St. John, and how he had been killed during the last night. Jessica thought nothing of this until later that night when she happened onto a small crowd around a man. She asked one of the guys listening to the conversation who the man on the inside was. Turns out this man at the center of the crowd was the Sherrif, Walter St. John. With a somewhat puzzeled look, she said she thought he was dead. After all, those two in the restarant had said so.

With the hearing of an eagle, he zeroed in on her and began to barrage her with questions as to who she heard it from and where. She went emotional and played off the emotions of the crowd to get her out of that scrape. Ever after she hated him. Now, mind you, Jessica has never been soft-spoken about anything. She has always been the kind of person to tell you what she was thinking when you started to become an annoyance, and this guy was very annoying.

During these few nights she also met a vampire kid named Sandy, who had a gangrel friend with a rat complex, named Draven. The both of them were living on the streets (seperately) but otherwise on the same level as Jessica. The three of them became friends pretty quickly, and that sealed Jessica to St Luis for the duration.

Jessica had been there for no more than a month before Walter had gotten killed. Much of the supernatural community had whispered rumors that it was Jessica who had done it. His prior ghouls had varied thier responses, from relief to anger. There were a few times when she was nearly attacked by a wayward ghoul who had thought Jessica was behind Walter's death.

For the next two months she had gathered herself as one of the local inhabitants with whom the grown-ups would have to deal with. Sandy and Draven had joined with Jessica to form a small coterie of vampiric youths called "The Blue Flame". Not many of those outside of the group knew of it, but it did seem to give things a purpose.

Then a Crone showed up by the name of Victoria Jones. She claimed command of the covenant and made herself known to the others. Jessica, considering the city to be her turf and the being the only other Crone in the city besides the owner of a presdigious nightclub who was fairly reserved in her own right, had given this Victoria a buzz. This was perhaps the thing that had signed Jessica's demise in the city more than anything else.

For the next month, Jessica was trying to perform the painful process of integrating with a covenant she knew next to nothing about. Not only that, the covenant was not so sure it wanted to have Jessica as one of thier own, due to her devient additudes. Things came to a head when Jessica and Victoria had an argument. Victoria wanted Jessica to use the Blue Flame to gather information for the covenant, and Jessica decided she wanted out.

What was formerly known as Jessica Healey didn't leave the hotel that night. What did leave was a staked corpse. For the following two weeks, she was tortured to weaken her strong mind. Her mind and personality were remade to the accept the covenant a bit better. As a punishment, they also stripped her of most of her Cruac. When they let her go, they never saw her again.

***

She stumbled through cities in record time. She spent 6 years in ohio, living in motels and trying to come to grips with what had happened to her. Much of the reprogramming began to wear off, but she never got back the power they took from her. After a while her fear began to wear away, and she decided to attempt another joining to the society of the damned.
