Where I Find Peace I was going to put the meanings of the poems here. I decided not to do that, obviously. Even though some of these poems have pretty obvious meanings, I wanted to leave each one open to interpretation by the reader. I want you to feel when you read these and I think that's hard to do when you can't relate. Enjoy! *~~*NA*~~* |
A young girl sits and waits in a pasture Got tired of her life always flying past her But here, time seems to stand still There's time to think, and there's time to feel Out here the beauty of life is free Everything is just as it should be She gently picks a blade of grass Head suddenly fills with visions of the past A simple blink makes the thought flee No need to think back She's so happy with where she's at Looks at the peacefulness around her Growing tired as it reaches a late hour Nature emerges at this time of night Yet, still it is peaceful, no fear of a fight Brightly colored butterflies constantly come fluttering by Unknowingly watched by lazy eyes It's calm out here in this hidden place Happy as can be, not wanting to see another face A feeling that she'd like to keep Live in this place endlessly Untouched by any other's need She crawls closer to the comfort of the old shade tree Sunlight's growing dim, it's getting harder to see Under the shade tree she sits and dozes Dreaming of sweet perfume and roses But no dream could be sweeter than her reality Never wishing to get lost in even the most magical of dreams Welcoming with wide eyes Each new day at sunrise And the dawn of a new day appears Creeping, ever so near A smile spreads across her face As she awakens to a new day in this place Turns to the man in whos arms she does reside Content as could be, just to be by his side A reminder of all she has fought for Reason for every battle, and for every war Everynight, these dreams she does see Awakening each morning to the only place she really wants to be In the arms of her lover Who wants nothing more that to love her And live his own life With her as his wife |
