Man and the Elements
part 6

After getting the bridge finished he decides to build an outdoor grill. So drawing up his plans and getting his material ready he gets that done. It only takes a few days and its ready. And just in time too because some of his family is coming for an extended visit.

So he gets the bush hog hooked to the tractor and gets all the grass cut neat and tidy. He checks the nature trail to make sure there are no dangerous limbs in the way. Then he starts piling brush and limbs, dried cuttings from the yard, in a pile down by the river. They would have a big bonfire! If he can get a permit! So he gets that taken care of and continues piling brush. He wanted a big one. He sets up the stakes for horseshoes. That will be great for the "older kids". So now hes ready and the family starts arriving. They come from every direction. He is very pleased at the comments from his family about all hes done. He takes them on a tour to the nature trail and inside the new out buildings and shows off the brush pile for the bonfire. The grill works great and lots of food is cooked on it. The kids in the family enjoy riding bikes on the nature trail. The horseshoe games are great and enjoyed by all. Then the day planned for the bonfire it rains! So now all he has there is a pile of wet limbs and brush that won't burn! Well it was a very enjoyable week spent with his family anyway. Maybe next time they could have a bonfire.

Finally all was gone and it was quiet again. The visit was great but a little peace and quiet is nice too!
