I Dream

When I lay down to sleep at night, you are my last thought. Its your name on my lips when I fall asleep. Then in my dreams I see us on warm sandy beaches. Or by candle light with music softly playing. There are stars above us softly shinning. I dream of the warmth of you lying beside me. I dream of your touch, your lips, your love. In my dreams my heart takes wings to be beside you as you dream. I dream of you reaching for me and holding me close in your arms, of our hearts beating together as one. I dream of a love shared, truly, deeply. Of the need to be with you, to touch you, to feel your breath on my skin. I dream of the softness of your lips on mine, and the kiss of passion that follows. Then I awake and I am alone and I wonder if you know of my dreams. I wonder if your dreams are of me when you close your eyes at night. I wonder if you reach out to touch me in your dreams. When you awake and find me not there, is your heart filled with despair? To know love only in dreams!
