My Morning Walk
In the morning when I walk I don't have anyone to talk But I hear the morning sounds As I begin to make my round I can hear the birds in song Happy as I walk along The sounds they make with such delight As they fly within my sight Then I get out on the street There is no one to meet And there just a little higher I hear the singing in the wire Some people when they walk Like to have someone to talk Or bring their own music along And miss the sound of birds in song But I like the sounds I hear Without those headphones on my ear The lovely sound a bluebird makes As it calls out to its mate Or the cooing of the doves In a tree high above And I hear a blackbird cry As it takes off in the sky Way up high in the air Buzzards drift on currents there Sometimes on a foggy morn I can see a deer and fawn Some don't know just what they miss Oh how much I enjoy this To see the sun rise in the sky All these things are a natural high
