Imagination!

As a child, I always had a very good imagination. I could take simple things and imagine them to be something grand. So many ways you can use your imagination. There was a stretch of fence wire about 12 or 14 feet long. My brother and I drug that wire all over the place from on shady spot to another. Then we made a circle and connected it. This was our play house or a horse carrol. Our pots were vegetable cans, our food we cooked was leaves in plain water.Sometime we would use mushrooms. But we never tried to eat it. Sometimes my mom would make us soup and a sandwich and we would eat in our playhouse. We would take gallon syrup cans and my grandmothers snuff boxes (cleaned of course) and we would use forked sticks and a straight one with a little string and make a well. There is a scrub that grows in the south we call a dog fennel, it grows in clumps and sometimes a lot close together. We would get some string and tie the tops together and that was our teepee. Sometimes we would have a whole village of teepees made from dogfennel clumps. There is also palmetto clumps that grow in the south. We would clean that out and it was our cave if we wanted to play "Durango Kid" or whatever we could dream up that needed a cave. Our horses were simple tobacco sticks that we picked out of a pile at the pack house. Thats where we took tobacco of the sticks when it was cured. But we knew to put them back when we got through playing with them. Sometimes when we were hunting wild horses that fence wire was our carrol. Thinking back it was kinda funny to have tobacco sticks propped up all around it. Sometimes we played Tarzan and climbed trees and swung on grapevines and go from limb to limb in the trees. Over the years my imagination has helped in many ways. I can go to the far off lands in a book. I can travel to the far reaches of the universe. I can travel through time and imagine the future, or I can travel back as far as my mind takes me. Someone can tell me about a place and I can see it. So you see imagination is good. It takes you anywhere you want to go. You can be in a grand palace, looking at priceless jewels, or in a tent somewhere beside a cool mountain stream.
So let it go!
Set your mind free and see where it takes you!
