Sunrise Together

Its early morning, and the sun isn't up yet. We want to see the sun rise together. There beside the river is a hugh log. You lean against it and I sit there in front and lean back against your chest. You put your arms around mine and rest your chin on top of my head. Then as the sun starts to rise the few clouds there turn different shades of pink with edges of silver. As the sun gets higher the clouds turn slightly red. Then the trees that surround us start to color as the first rays of the sun kiss the leaves. The brightness of the sun shines past the clouds to make silver streaks across the morning sky. As the sun gets higher it sparkles through the mist that hangs over the water. Out in the river you can hear the soft splash as a fish flips at the top of the water. Did he see an insect? Or a minnow? Or did he just want to see the sun rise too? The higher the sun gets the more colorful the forest becomes. Then the musical sounds of the birds singing in the light of a new day. The birds start swooping in for a drink of water on the fly. Then when the sun is all the way up we wait a little longer to hear the quiet sounds of the river, of the morning breeze as it gently rustles the leaves. Then we stand up and hand in hand we quietly walk away.
