Spring

Spring is in the air I can feel it. Even the birds feel it, as you can tell from the difference in their song. The purple martin scouts have arrived to check out nesting sites, and my gourds are still down. Can't get anyone to help me get them back up. Soon they will all be here. I love the sound they make. And the bluebirds have a different sound. The trees are getting a green glow. Green spots are visible in the dry grass. The night air is soft and warm. The days are getting longer. All that will make it right now is the night call of the whippoorwill. Then soon the time will be right for flowers and the sweet fragrance of honey suckle and the lavender of wisteria in the pines. But then you have the pollen everywhere. The yellow pollen dust of the pines that covers automobiles. And fun in the sun at the beaches, picnics and cookouts. Oh boy! Can hardly wait!
