Heroic Flight 93

On the bright and clear morning of September 11, 2001, flight 93 left Newark airport headed for San Francisco. The takeoff was routine. Then about 50 minutes in flight things changed. The plane made an abrupt change of direction and headed back the way they had come. They had been hijacked! In broken English the captain said there was a bomb on board. Some of the passenger with cell phones called their families to relay what was happening. Then they found out about hijacked jetliners crashing into the twin towers of the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. After discussing it they figured their destination was the nation's capital. As the Americans they are they said no way. We will take back this plane and if we have to die we will choose the place not some crazed foreigners! So keeping in touch with their families for as long as possible they said their goodbyes. Then the phones went dead! The family members knew the plane had crashed. It went down outside Shanksville, Pa. There it would not be a plane of destruction and take countless innocent lives. This was their last stand, this was their place to die. As Americans they paid the price for freedom! They are in good company with other brave americans that lost their lives this day. They are in the gentle loving care of God now. May He comfort their families and may they find peace in knowing they died bravely and the way they wanted too. As true Americans for freedom!
