Campaign starting information

This campaign takes place before the Merlin chronicles.  Random is on the throne, Vialle at his side.  The newest addition to the royal family, the PCs, are mostly unaware of the events that took place.  For those that read the Chronicles of Amber, certain things revealed in them are secrets keep by the royal family.

For those that grew up in Amber it is known that King Oberon died in a selfless attempt to repair a crack in the pattern, though how it got there is largely a secret.  You won't know how Brand managed to taint the pattern, only that he did.  You do not know about the existance of the primal pattern.

For most of the PC's, you know very little of Amber's history.  You know that it was established by a great man, Dworkin, and that Oberon has been on the throne for countless decades [in your eyes].  You will know the laws.  That is all.

There are other things which you will not know from the chronicles.  I cannot list them all here, but, use your discretion.  Anything that would give you an advantage in the courts of Amber is probably unknown to you.
But being the youngest generation in Amber puts you at a disadvantage from the start.  This is of course, part of the fun.

Update to current part 2 (10-17-2002)
Nothing more need be said than, they have been kicked out of Amber for what amounts to acting without enough information.  Or as some call it, stupidity.

Nothing more needs to be said, but I'll say it anyway.  They sucked all the power out of the gems that they were entrusted to protect, and thus made those gems worthless.  All the energy was channeled into Jonathan, which created odd effects.

We left off with Bleys walking in on our Drunk Heros(R).

Stay tuned to next episode where, as always, Blake will attempt to say and do something witty; Jonathan will stick his nose where it ought not be stuck; JiTen will cast magic probably better left to more expierence magic users; Thorac will do something in the most difficult way possible; Marrille will wander aimlessly; Andrea will punch something, and it will shatter into a thousand pieces; and Taliesin will wonder "What the 'ell 'am aye' doing here?".

Update to current:
The campaign has progressed nicely. The last session ended with the PC's going through a trump.  Waiting for them on the other side is Brand.  The backdrop is the shadow were the PC's discovered a black 'fortess' in the distance that seemed to move away as they got closer.

Bley's is now on the throne.  Snow covers Amber and all of forest Arden.  The sea is frozen, through Remba remains safe.  Corwin is missing, so is Eric.

The setting is set for a retake of Amber by the rightfull King, Random.  All that remains is for forces to gather.

Past events (brief):
The very first session had the PC welcomed into Amber with a banquet.  During this they were given the title of prince\princess and where given a mission: To go and investigate some troubling events near the golden circle.

When they left they found that at a normally mild temperature time in Amber, snow was on the ground.  They didn't care, they headed off to shadow.  A little of this and a spice of that, they arrived at Begma.  During their stay at Begma, the PC's were poisoned.  Most recovered and headed to a meeting with the King in which they were left to wait as Aeril, our hero, talked to the king.  More happened and it was found that the PC's had committed acts that required them to be taken into custody.  The PC's, stuborn as they are, refused to accept that they could have done anything wrong, so they ran.

Some time passed, some things happened, and our PC's arrived at Arden, the great forest of Amber.  Julian came to greet our PC's but, being the rude and unkempt people that they are, they insulted him!  After the waves of dogs and hawks subsided, our PC's arrived at Rebma.  There they found out that the rightful king Bleys had taken the throne.  Of course our PC's, the barbarians that they are, were un-accepting of this and decided to join the rebels trying to usurp the king.

After committing an act of treason, swearing loyalty to Random, they were taken to a shadow where a rebel leader was waiting for them.  Once there, a comical instance took place.  Thorac, a swordsmen who had recently joined them, got what was coming to any rebel of Bleys, embarrassment!  Thorac proved that, he infact was no properly toliet trained.  In the bathroom a mid viewers, he wet himself like the child he [editors note: they umm, made me write this, no offense Ameesh] is.

Much laughing ensued and they eventually stumbled onto a place of interest.  What was so interesting about it I will never know.  They however spent precious time gawking at this, instead of doing something useful.  Some obviously bright man was tailing these rebels and started an attack.  Somehow this ants got away.

No worries though, they are now at the mercy of Brand, ha ha ha!
