The Neapolitan Mastiff originates from in and around Naples, Italy. In around 500bc armed forces were supplied with thick packs of Roman Molossians who the Neapolitan Mastiff can be traced back to. They have a long and colorful past, but are still a fairly rare breed today. The Neapolitan Mastiff was just accepted into the AKC Working Group in the year 2004.
