Growing Pains
The Neapolitan Mastiff is not well known for their health issues. The most common health issues in puppies are "Growing Pains" & Cherry Eye.

The Neapolitan Mastiff as a puppy can start to limp at any given time, for no reason. It can last for months, You might think your pup got hurt playing or often times thought to be hip or elbow dysplasia. It can effect one leg one day, and another leg the next. Often causing your puppy to limp. Growing pains will NOT cause your puppy to stop eating or drinking.

The Neapolitan Mastiff is often found to have such things as growing pains. This happens during puppy hood, usually starts about 4 - 6 months old.

This is due to Myopathies (general pain in all the joints) Because the Neo's grow so quickly and there bodies are growing so much every day, this takes a big toll on the muscles and  tendons.

Giving *ASPIRIN  &  Vitamin C, 1 to 2 grams per day with a proper diet. And letting him/her grow up and you will see that the limping will go away.

*ASPIRIN (NOT Tylenol )

Keeping your puppy "light" in weight so he/she can move around may help as well. At about 10 months or so the limping will have gone away...

Please keep in mind that it is not good to have your Neo puppy climbing stairs or jumping into trucks, too much exercise, or rough housing is hard on a sore limping pup.

If the pup really seems to be hurting, take them to your veterinarian and get proper care.
