WORK

COR

I was hired on August 21, 2006 by the city of Rochester as a full time employee, thus beginning my work in the public sector.

Mark's Pizzeria

Since August of 1996, I've been working at Mark's Pizzeria in Fairport, NY. It is my first real job, and it's a fun place to work. The store is owned partially by the founder Mark Crane. The Pittsford (Bushnell's Basin) Mark's was merged with my store in December of 2000, and we basically doubled the number of our employees.

When I first started in 1996, the following people worked at Fairport Mark's Pizzeria: Mark Andrews, Mindy Bellanca, Nate Childs, Matt Daigler, Jason Kayser, Kate Kelleher, Angela Loewke, Jamie Lyle, Jason Lyle, Jeff Pattridge, Anthony Raymond, and Justin Wise. Notice how many of these people are still working at the pizza shop...

Lenel Int'l

From March to August of 1999, I was co-oping at Lenel Systems International, Inc., located in Pittsford, NY. The company produces a security system software, which involves the use of ID cards. My first full time job, it was a great experience. I was a member of the Quality Assurance department, headed by Dave Dayton Jr. then, and the other members of the department then were Maskim Rydkin, Robert Ziefel, Marc Hofner, and Max Irwin. I was responsible for testing just about everything the customers received. Lenel had an atmosphere of a small, local company, which means that I was able to see the president of the company once in a while. On the other hand, it was one of the fastest growing company in Monroe County, Ranked number 3 in the Rochester Top 100 by the newspaper Democrat and Chronicle for the year 2000, Lenel has a lot of potential, and a bright future.

ALSTOM

My second co-op job was at ALSTOM Signaling, Inc., located in Brighton, NY. Formally known as General Railway Signal Corporation (GRS), the company was found in 1904. An ISO 9001 company, it designs and manufactures signaling and train control systems for railroads and transit applications. I worked in the Supervisory Systems branch (renamed to Automatic Train Systems) of the Transport division of ALSTOM Inc.

ALSTOM acquired GRS back in 1997/98. ALSTOM is a French corporation, with businesses in building trains for both railroads and subways, building power generators for power plants, construction of cruise ships, and others. A major competitor of ALSTOM is the Siemens Corp. of Germany.
