About: DJ Rap, aka Charissa Saverio, is Great Britain's premier hardcore/jungle, and drum & bass DJ. When I first heard her first single "Bad Girl" from her debut album "Learning Curve" on WBER in late 1999, I thought to myself "I've never heard anything like this before.". The mixture of echoing electronic sounds, pulsating electonic beats, faster than humanly possible drumming, and DJ Rap's vocal makes listening to her music a surreal experience, kind of takes you to a different place. DJ Rap's music should only be enjoyed with full bass, full volume, and in an enclosed environment, like in a room or in a car. For more information, visit either her official website or her official Europe website
DJ Rap's latest CD, "Bulletproof", has been out since May 2005. If you don't have a copy, go get it!

DJ Rap came to Rochester for a show on June 5th, 2004, and I was there with my friend Moe Daigler. We got there a little bit early, and DJ Rap didn't start DJing until 11pm or so. She didn't play any of her songs from "Learning Curve", but the techno dance songs she was spinning kept the crowd moving, until almost 3 in the morning. It was a lot of fun, and we also get to meet her, so that was cool. Wish she would come back to Rochester soon.
