Chapter 7: Small Angles & Approximation
Example 3
Find an approximate value for cos (5 ´
10-3) where the angle is measured
in radian.
Solution
cos (5 ´ 10-3) |

Note
If an angle is given in degree/minutes, change it to radians before applying
small angle approximation formulae.
Eg. sin 2.1° = sin (2.1 ´p/180)
= sin (0.0367) » 0.0367.
