Lightning strikes and as it clears a man is standing in white armor that seems to burn as if on fire
he looks around and as he walks through the mud not a single speck of dirt sticks to him as though he were floating above the ground
each drop of rain seems to just miss him or perhaps he's walking through the drops, either way not a single drop of rain lands on him
he hears neighing and turns around
the revered unicorn of dreams appears behind him, the strongest of stallions rumored to be powered by dreams themselves and had long been thought but a dream himself
the knight climbs unto his gentle beast and trods off into the murky existance of these now befouled plains
as he rides he know he has but one goal he must reach the angel palace and stop her from giving her life to save the world they live in
she believes it's the only way to save the people of their planet but he knows that with faith, hope, dreams and love there has to be another way
he had spent his entire life devoted to her and becoming the holy knight that he was, his only purpose in life was her happieness and safety
yet now she dared to think of leaving him alone in this cruel world...he knew he had to stop her and as he made it over another hill he could see the peak of the tolarian academy where his armor had been forged...he wasn't far but he wasn't moving fast enough he needed to be as fast as lightning to stop her from being the martyr of love
he bounced up and down on his ride thinking only of her smile and her laugh...he knew he had to save her and if he didn't...
he daren't think such painful thoughts not even for the slightest instant of time
he looked up and saw that the peak of her tower was in sight...he could see her standing on top of the tower by now Radiant would be coming down from the heavens to murder her for the love she has felt for a human...but he wouldn't let anyone stand in his way nothing would stop him from saving the one he loved the most
Radiant's Dragoons were already surrounding the tower and fighting zealously against the angel queen's guardians...
if he didn't do something fast he knew that even the dragoons would make it to his love
his horse still galloping at full speed, he leaned forward and kicked his legs up throwing him from his horse and landing him right into one of the goons and the force from his dismount sent him and the tackled goon into two other goons and then a wall
as they hit the walls of her palace he felt it shake and knew that was a bad sign...never had the tower of her love flinched from any onslaught...and now the slightest bump sent it shaking
he had to hurry or...and a spear went past his face and towards one of the guardians he instinctively sent his left arm and shield up and stopped the blow, the spear bounced off his holy armor and lay now in the mud...he looked over at the one that had thrown it...it was Yawgmoth himself...the embodiement of hate, the avatar of death itself....he looked up at his love in her tower and prey that she give him the strength to protect her
he dashed toward yawgmoth and unsheathed his sword of light as yawgmoth threw his own soldiers at the knight, but no matter how many he threw the knight didn't even slow then the ground itself began to fight the knight as the dead rose from there ancient slumber and grabbed at his feet...
yawgmoth drew an axe and held it high but our knight wasn't reaady to die, he still had work he had to finish and he sliced the hands of the zombies below him off and dashed to his side
the axe came down with a crash that made every other mortal soldier on this battleground fall and then yawgmoth caught a glimpse of the knight's eyes
in them he saw love, hope and his own defeat "YOU WILL NOT DEFEAT ME, YOU SHALL NEVER DRIVE THE SHADOWS AWAY AS LONG AS LIGHT EXISTS" yelled yawgmoth as he hit the knight with the axe and as the knight fell his armor began to shine brighter yawgmoth covered his eyes then as he opened them he saw the knight floating a foot from the ground but that wasn't the slightest bit shocking to him, what suprised him was the graceful figure he saw standing behind the fallen knight
the angel queen herself had come down from her tower in the darkest hour when she was needed there most in order to guide the knight's spirit back into his body and as the knight came up all of the angel's forces dropped as they had lived and died for her love and now they gave their own lives in order to keep the only one that could save her life
the knight looked around and saw hundreds of soldiers and yawgmoth in front of him...he was the only one standing between them and his love...but that was just the way he wanted it and he turned around and took a knee in front of his love, grabbed her hand and kissed it. Then he rose and while she said her farewells and he said his sweet words that had brought her to earth in the first place, and as he sheltered in her light, yawgmoth and his forces had no option but to wait as her love and her shine kept them all at bay
he turned and picked his blade up from the ground, he saw words engraved into it now...they said simply "Life" and he didnt' need any other reminder of his reasons here and before the enemies knew he was standing 10 had fallen to his blade
he made quick work of the hundreds of goons that had given her guardians such a difficult struggle earlier
and as he stood on the last goon and pulled his blade from his chest he looked over at yawgmoth who was now fleeing
"Where do you run coward? Back into the shadows so i may drive you out at my own convience?" the knight yelled at Yawgmoth
"YOU the shadow and the light have there times THE SHADOW'S TIME WILL COME AND YOU WILL NOT LIVE TO SEE IT." As Yawgmoth continuted to run he then burst into flames and the clouds gathered above his dead body and the sillhouette of a figure could be seen
"Radiant" said the knight. "I've come for your queen. Her love was to be for everyone but now her love has singled you out and grown to a level that only humans are to enjoy" Radiant said in a booming voice...
"It's not your place to rule Radiant." Said the queen, "It might not even be mine"
With that Radiant departed as quickly as she had come and as she left the queen fell to the ground...and as she landed the mud splashed upon her dress and she felt cold....
as she fell so too did her knight and he was wearing a cloak instead of his armor and he landed next to her
She looked around scared and saw him by her side, then he caught her glance and moved toward her and helped her up and then held her close
she didn't understand what had happened until the idea struck the two of them to look towards the tower
and what did they see upon that tower? Radiant looking down smiling, "You wanted your love, you wanted your people to live?"
"Your wings," Radiant looked towards the fallen queen, "and your power." she looked towards the knight, "and your love have saved your world
The couple looked at each other
and as she shivered in the cold, they both smiled at each other
as they looked to thank Radiant they found that they weren't in the cold, raining kingdom that once belonged to them...they were on a plains...an open stretch...with a river...and a forest...but how?
A bird landed on a blade of wheat next to them, "You are not worthy of my kingdom, but your love is eternal and that i can not take away. So here you are the manifestation of your love. This is your world and my gift to you for saving mine." the bird said it's words and quickly flew off into the sunrise...and she looked up into his arms and sighed, "I'm no longer your angel" She said looking down. He grabbed her chin and pulled her face to his and kissed her. She knew then that words weren't needed here. She had everything anyone could ever desire, and he was hers, all hers. She felt her eyes close and her mind fade as they stood in each other's embrace and as the sun came up upon this new begining.
