I spent the Summer of 2000 collecting little bits of plastic in the sand, known in Huntington Beach area as Surfer pills or Nurdles. I used them to create the artwork "Angry Mermaid", and "Mermaid Tears", to show the anger and pain of the pollution in their home. Finshed in October, and both exhibited in H.B. Surf Musuem, the sand, buildings, trash washing downstream, and the Mermaids below were created with thousands of "Tears" of different colors. | ||||||||||||||
