| Spirit Points In combat, you should see big bar across the top of the screen when you have a character awaiting your command. This bar is your total Spirit Points or SP. SP allows you to perform spells and special attacks. Gaining and Losing SP will go up after every turn from the amount of spirit energy your party has. If any member is unconsious or has an effect in which they can't gain SP such as fatigue or stone, the SP amount you gain will be deducted the points that that character usually contributes. SP can be gained if someone uses the focus command on a turn. Using SP Let's start with magic. There are two things required in order to cast spells: MP and SP. How much MP you have is how many times you can perform spells, but you need SP in order for spells to work. Check the number next to a spell you want to perform. This is the amount of SP you need to perform the attack. If it requires 6 and you have 6 SP or over, the spell can be performed - BUT - Check your MP. If your MP is at zero, you cannot perform the spell. Your MP goes down each time you use a spell. Special Attacks are much easier to deal with. The only thing that is required is enough amount of SP. Hint Pressing the X button on a spell or super moves allows you to read a small text bar that tells you about the attack or spell. Press X again or A to get out. |

| Information Box When you engage in combat, this is a little box you will see on the middle left side of the screen when you have a character ready to choose an option. There will be the name of the character and a little picture of them, the character's level, MP, HP, and a little HP Bar. The level you are on is how far you have advanced with all of your abilities. MP stands for magic power. The numbers next to it allow you to know how many spells you can perform. Each spell takes up 1 MP. If your MP runs out, you cannot cast a spell until you have more MP. HP stand for hit points. This is your health which drops when you are attacked. If your HP meter reaches zero, than your character will remain unconcious until he/she is revived. Or the battle has ended, leaving the character with 1 HP. There are many items that can revive, restore health, and magic power. |
