I reckon that Jelena Dokic is a great player with really good potntiaL, but I think that her giving Tony Roche, arguably the best tennis brain in the woeld today, the flick has to be the wrst move of her career. Seriously, could her father eer teach her he slice back hand that Tony did which set up so many points at this Wimbledon tounament. Futhermore, he taught her to brush the ball up, as apposed to continually hitting a really flat ball. Without him she would no way be the tennis player that she is today an unless she does get Tony back, she will not continue to improve. I am not trying to diss her or her father, but the simply don't hae the tennis expertise that Tony Roche does. He is an assest to any player, and honestly can't believe that any ody would deny his coaching. I thin that soon enough she will hae to come to the realisation that she will not go far unless she has an experienced coach that knows how to teach new shots. After all, you can't have the same tennis game all your life

Well, we have now entered a new year, a new decade, a new century and a new millenium. I would like to wish Jelena the very best of luck. She has achieved so much in the past two or three years and has so much ahead of her to look forward to. No one ca forget her amazing Wimbledon run. Yes, admittedly Hingis wasn't playing her best but Jelena won easily 6-0 6-2. She went on to beat other highly ranked players including Mary Pierce. Jelena's form took a bit of a dive after Wimbledon. Jelena didn't have a coach at that time. Add to this the current ruling that restricts younger players from playing a certain number of matches and the fact that she now has to get used to a whole new kind of pressure at the top and we can perhaps explain her form lately. Give her time, and be positive. When I saw her matches at Wimbledon, I knew I wasn't watching any ordinary pro player, but someone quite incerdible. Good Luck in the Australian open Jelena and the three other Grand Slams and Best Wishes for 2000 and beyond. SEE YOU AT WIMBLEDON ANDREW FLYNN

Amazingly talented player Dokic is. Really impressed when I saw her playing for the first time at the ongoing tournament. Somewhat reminded me of D V Roost when she beat Sanchez some time ago. These "upsets" are often not just accidents but signs of th latent and potential talent of the (as yet)lower ranked players.
