Schon seit Jahren war es in dieser Stadt

Doch sie wollten es nicht sehen, haben nicht gefragt
(But they did not want to see it, did not ask)

Oft war es kalt - nur einer kam
(It was often cold - only one came)

Schwarze Tage und er hat es laengst gemerkt
(Black days and he had noticed it for a long time)

Er ging raus lief ins Feuer ohne Angst
(He went out, ran into the fire without anxiety)

Am Abgrund stehn, in diese Augen sehn
(To stand on the precipice, to see in these eyes)

Was er macht ist Wahnsinn, er kann nicht mehr fliehen
(What he does is madness, he cannot escape/flee anymore)


Ganz alleine fand man ihn in der Nacht
(One found him totally alone in the night)

Ohne Leben, es hat ihn umgebracht
(Without life, it has killed him)

Nichts mehr zu tun - nichts war vorbei
(Nothing more to do - nothing was past)

Keiner weint um ihn am naechsten Tag
(No one weeps for him on the next day)

Und sie wussten nicht, er hat's fuer sie gemacht
(And they did not know, he has done it for them)

Und auch fuer ihn

Es ist nie zu Ende, es hoert niemals auf

Wild wie ein Sturm
(Wild/Savage/Fierce as a storm)

Ewiges Licht und Feuer brennt in ihm
(Eternal light and fire burns in him)

Er hat gekaempft - dafuer bezahlt
(He has struggled/fought - paid for that)

Verlange nichts, jemand wie er gibt niemals auf
(Demands/Wants/Asks for nothing, someone like he never gives up)
