Jesus even told Peter to fish and he prophesied that he would find a coin.  He also said that the Son of Man has no place to lay His head.  Peter and John said to the crippled man in Acts 3:
"
Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you.  In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk."  There is no implication that even the disciples were so wealthy as T.D. Jakes claims.

The rich part (verse 9) has to do with our salvation since it would not make sense that the unsaved rich people would become rich when they would receive Christ as Lord and Savior.  Ephesians 1 says that we are seated already in the heavenly places which portrays that our position in Christ is that of royalty.  Obviously, this had to do with the soul and in the spiritual sense we are that in Christ.

Also notice that the Macedonian church was suffering trials and needed an offering from the Corinthian church who had more.  Here again we see Koinonia (sharing) principle in the church.  We help one another.  Paul never rebukes the Macedonians for having a need but instead calls the Corinthians to share with them.  He nevers tells them "You should be tithing or where is your faith."

Please be not partakers with them!  God wants people to know the true gospel of grace.
More will be discussed on this topic.  Grace be multiplied in Christ.  Amen.

T.D. Jakes notes were taken from:

Kaylois Henry,
Bishop Jakes Is Ready, Are You? The Dallas Observer Magazine, 20 June 1996, 31(Click on this link to read it for yourself.)

More shocking statements made by T.D. Jakes:

The myth of the poor Jesus needs to be destroyed, because its holding people back (Kaylois Henry, Bishop Jakes Is Ready. Are You?, The Dallas Observer magazine, June 20-26, 1996, pg. 31. PFO Quarterly Journal Article).

"Did you know that the bible says, 'You shall have whatever you say.' Now, don't you say that if you don't want no increase. If all you want is what you had don't say that anymore. But, if you want something beyond what you have ever seen, shout increase! The power of life and death is in your tongue. When you open your mouth there is power all over the room! Shout increase!" (T. D. Jakes, Bible Answer Man Show, Hank Hanegraaff, Audio-Clip, July 30, 2004).

Scripture teaches that receiving Christ as your personal Savior does not necessarily make you a son of God, but if you choose to do so, the power (authority) and right to do so is present. ... Just being saved does not make you a son of God, ...only those who are willing to be led by the Spirit actually realize and manifest the sonship of God (T.D. Jakes, "The Harvest," pg. 46-47. PFO Quarterly Journal Article).

He states that, "because the teachers in Jesus day listened to Him as a child it boosted His self-esteem" (Jakes, Loose That Man, pg. 3. PFO Quarterly Journal Article).

Dr. J. Vernon McGee has well said, "Whenever you find a minister who is rich, watch out.  Folk are not supposed to get rich in the ministry," Commentary on 2 Corinthians 6:8-10, page 117.
