There was a land of Cavaliers and Cotton Fields called the Old South. Here in this pretty world, Gallantry took its last bow. Here was the last ever to be seen of Knights and their Ladies Fair, of Master and of Slave. Look for it only in books, for it is no more than a dream remembered, a Civilization gone with the wind...

Oh you know where this is goin', don't ya?

Mom took me & my sister to see it when I was 7 years old.......I remember the fire, & I remember him cussin'.  I was 7.  Only other thing I can remember is wantin' to go home.  I tried to watch it when Ted Turner looped it for a month or two on one of his stations.....Got almost 10 minutes into it before searchin for any kinda show with a car in it.

But here we are marchin' to Atlanta.  And if the weather doesn't rain out the big fire scene, I thought that with a little artistic license, I'd suggest a few minor casting changes...Toss out a few predictions as well....And Frankly, I don't give damn who you think will win.

Rusty Wallace as Rhett - (Hey, it's MY movie now.)  Cap'n Wallace starts from the Mason Dixon line, but will work his way up to 8th.  Then he'll blame me.

Mark Martin as Ashley Wilkes - Perennial second banana.  Kinda tired of seein' Burton's rear bumper, aren't ya?  Well get a load of Rusty's this week.  10th.

Mike Bliss - Actually Mike wouldn't have qualified to be in this movie.

Scarlett O'Gordon - Can't seem to get back to Tara.  "
...they're not going to lick me! .... If I have to lie, steal, cheat, or kill! As God is my witness, I'll never be second again."  Too bad Gordo...2nd.

Sterling Marlin as Prissy - "
Lordse, we got to have a crew chief. I don't know nothin' 'bout drivin' Chevys!" Sterling will go whirling by lap 160.  Into the wall and 40 laps down.  Eight ball said 38th.

Geoff Bodine as the City of Atlanta - See Daytona Truck race.

Tony Stewart as Olivia DeHavilland - If for no other reason, they've both got chubby cheeks.  Stewart might get a ninth outta this.

Woe-ud Buhton as Woe-ud Buhton - With that accent, he's got any part he wants.  Climbs to 5th.

Michael Waltrip as General Sherman - Blazin his way from 28th to 1st......

Oh Shut up...Waltrip's gonna win one day.  And I when it happens, I'll be the only breathing mammal who'll get to say "Told ya so.".........Then again, put me down for $10 on Bobby.

After all, tomorrow is another day!

With apologies to Miss Mitchell and the Academy....
