Just a quick email to let you know that all is well here in Oz. I've
been very busy catching up with everyone and trying to organise all my boxes
(and boxes!) that I had stored at my dads and my brothers. I have
returned to work for 2 days a week which was a bit of a shock - a little strange
because i am sitting at the same desk and have many of the same
clients. I might be applying for a senior position in the next few
days but I am not sure how keen i am to have the pressure on so soon.
Kris and I have been lucky enough to move into a place that is fairly
central to the city, beach etc and we are looking after it for a friend for
a few months. It looks a bit empty at the moment but we are gradually
starting to fill it up. Kris has been lucky to find work
straight away, working for a maintenance service company (gardening work)
and he is getting mighty fit and tanned. This is his second week and
he has already scored a jeep and additional responsibilities so things are
looking good for him. I am glad that we went camping along the great
ocean road and had a look around Melbourne before the reality of work
and money set in.
It has been great to see the family again and even though I predicted
that my niece and nephews had grown up, I was still amazed at how tall and grown
up they all seemed. My friends have also been dropping in to see
gidday and inviting us to barbies and dinners and so I can't complain with the
socialising. I look forward to showing Kris some of Adelaide
soon, especially now that the weather is improving and warming up (it was
dreadful when we were camping - rain, wind and cold - we must have bought it
with us). Anyway I think they have forecast 30-35 degrees for the
next 7 days so we must make some time to get to the beach.
Anyway, I had better get moving, I'm meeting a friend for lunch in
the market,
I hope all is well with you and i will let you know my work email
address real soon,
I am definitely missing you all so much - it is a real culture shock
to be back,
take care,
lots of love,
Yo
