Please consider the following proposal:-
1. The East Rand Youth Orchestra become associated with the
another youth orchestra (The ERYO exchange information with the
"associate orchestra" of the East Rand Youth Orchestra)
2. The Associate Orchestra and the ERYO exchange one or two orchestra members
with each other. The exchange members "join" the other orchestra for
about a month during the year and
experience the culture, practice and performances in another
orchestra, These orchestra members will spend this time
with the associate orchestra and participate in all the orchestra activities
(musical and admin.) and they will be able to bring back and share what
they have learnt in the other Orchestra to their orchestra.
3. Their could be an interchange of ideas, music and culture.
This could be a great opportunity of contact with people of different cultures
and to be an ambassador for your country.
4. The ERYO and the Associate Orchestra could also be involved in tours of
both countries for themselves and for other youth orchestra.
South Africa is a wonderful country and needs exposure to youth orchestras
from different countries.
If you do know of Youth Orchestras considering touring South Africa please
contact me and we can arrange some combined concerts and may be help in
the planning of their tours.
