Johannes P. Marais
Johannes is 16 years old and is a member of the second violins.
Music History:
He has been taking piano lessons since 1990 When he was in Grade Two.
His present music teacher is Mrs Anna Greyling.
Johannes has been taking violin lessons since 1996. He was a trophy winner
and achieved a Prestige Award for playing the violin in 1997 at the Springs Music
Festival.(The adjudicator was Mrs A.Fasser) His present violin teacher is Corrie Vermaas.
Academic achievements:
Johannes is a Top Ten pupil in Grade 11 at Johan Jurgens High School. He loves mathematics,
Science and Computer Science. He also takes additional Maths as an extra subject
Sport.
He achieved a first dan in Aikido. He also completed an International Instructor's course in Aikido.
He achieved Eastern Gauteng colours in Karate for Kumite (fighting) with SASKA.
He was a S.A champion of SASKA (South African Sports Karate Authority) in Kumite in 1998
This he has achieved five times
Hobbies:
Music, reading, theater, Aikido, Computers, golf and trail-hiking in nature
