MORE HOBO SHOW INFORMATION

Show Date: April 17-18, 2009 . Showtime is Friday, 4:00p.m. with Youth Judging and Cart Driving
                                                Saturday Opening Ceremonies: 8:00

Location: Adams County Fairgrounds, Hastings, NE

Friday Night "Fun Night": April 17, 2008 @ 6:00P.M.
                         will begin with:
Judges/Exhibitor Meeting @ 6:00P.M.

Entry Fees: This year show will be a Double Point Show for Halter and Single Point Show for Performance.
Showing in Halter & Halter/Performance will require Double Class Fee
                
& Showing only in Performance will require Single
                  Fee. Fees will be as follows:

Additional Fees:
                 Stalls                $15.00 (limit of 2 Adults or 3 Juveniles per stall) . There is no bedding.
                                         ALL Animals brought for competition must have a stall
                                         $15.00 for stalls Saturday evening
                        Stall Fee Note:  included in the stall fee price is an all night professional security guard
                 Fiber Fair         $5.00 per entry (Non-ALSA Class)
                 T-Shirts           Cost will be on entry form

Health Requirements: All animals are required to have a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection issued within 30 days of the Show.

ILR/ARI/CLRC Registration: All llamas entered in approved classes, with the exception of Youth Classes, must be registered or have passed screening with the International Lama Registry, or the Canadian Livestock Record Corporation. If Non-Breeders Llamas are not registered and wish to be in the ALSA Award System and wish to show in Halter, they must show in the Adult Non-Breeder Halter Class. Non-Breeder Llamas must be accompanied by a Registration or Veterinarian Certificate verifying the animal is a Gelding, a vasectomized male, or a spayed or non-reproductive female. All Alpacas entered in the approved classes, except for Youth, must be registered by the Alpaca Registry, Inc (ARI) or the Canadian Livestock Record Corporation (CLRC).   

More Show Information and Definitions

Llama Age Divisions: On a llama's birthdate, the llama moves to the next age division.
                                            Juvenile: 5 months to 12 months
                                            Yearling:  12 months to 24 months
                                            Two-Year Old:  24 months to 36 months.

Youth Age Guidelines:  Age groups as of January 1 year of the show except for youth who turns 8 yrs
                                                 during the calendar year of the show.
                                                  Junior:  8 yrs through 11 yrs
                                                  Intermediate:  12 yrs through 14 yrs
                                                  Senior:  15 yrs through 18 yrs

Wool Divisions:  Suri:  The Suri fleece should have a natural luster and hang and drape over the llamas
                                           body usually forming a natural part along the spine.  The fibers are grouped into
                                           a very distinctive and well defined lock structure. (See complete description in
                                           ALSA 15th Edition.
                                  Light Wool:  Minimal body wool, short neck wool with smooth legs
                                  Medium Wool:  Moderate to long body wool, minimal to moderate neck wool, smooth
                                                          to moderate leg wool.
                                  Heavy Wool:  Abundant body and neck wool with minimal to abundant leg wool
                                                       (i.e. leg wool at least to knee and hock.

ONLY THE SHOW JUDGE MAY MOVE A LLAMA FROM
ONE WOOL DIVISION TO ANOTHER

Mini Llamas:

Immature Class:  A registered llama under 3yrs of ageand the Dam is a registered Mature Mini or the
                                    Dam is registered foundation stock AND the Sire is a registered Mini.
Mature Class:  A registered llama 3 yrs of age or older that measures no more than 38 inches at the withers.
Produce of Dam:  Each entry must include only two offspring out of the same Dam. The Produce may be
                                     decided after the Halter Classes but must be listed with the Clerk before this class is held.
                                     The Dam will not be shown in this Class.  If the Dam is not owned by exhibitor, written
                                      permissioin to enter is neeeded from the Dam's owner/s and entry made in owner/s name.
Get of Sire:  Each entry must include only three offspring by the same sire.  The Get may be decided after
                          Halter Classes but must be listed with the Clerk before this class is held.  The Sire will not be in
                          this Class.  If Sire is not owned by exhibitor, written permission to enteris needed from Sire's
                         owner/s and enntry made in owner/s name.
