ILR/ARI/CLRC Registration: All llamas entered in approved classes, with the exception of Youth Classes, must be registered or have passed screening with the International Lama Registry, or the Canadian Livestock Record Corporation. If Non-Breeders Llamas are not registered and wish to be in the ALSA Award System and wish to show in Halter, they must show in the Adult Non-Breeder Halter Class. Non-Breeder Llamas must be accompanied by a Registration or Veterinarian Certificate verifying the animal is a Gelding, a vasectomized male, or a spayed or non-reproductive female. All Alpacas entered in the approved classes, except for Youth, must be registered by the Alpaca Registry, Inc (ARI) or the Canadian Livestock Record Corporation (CLRC).

Exhibitors must be the registered owners and make entry in the exact names (owner and llama/alpaca) as shown on the Registration Certificate or have a
"Permission To Show" form from the registered owners.

Nursing llama mother may not be accompanied in the ring by their babies. ALSA recommends not showing nursing mothers.

Llama Age Division: On a llamas birthday, the llama moves to the next age division.
Juvenile: 5 months to 12 months
Yearling: 13 months to 24 months
Two-Year Old: 25 months to 36 months
Adult: 37 months and older

Get of Sire: Each entry must include only three offspring by the same sire. The Get may be decided after halter classes but must be listed with the Clerk before this class is held. The sire will not be in this class. If sire is not owned by exhibitor, written permission to enter is needed from sire owner/s and entry made in owner/s name.

Produce of Dam: Each entry must include only two offspring out of the same dam. The produce may be decided after halter classes but must be listed with the Clerk before this class is held. The dam will not be shown in this class. If the dam is not owned by exhibitor , written permission to enter is needed from dam's owner/s and entry made in owner/s name.

Youth Info: All youth age 4yrs through 18 yrs as of January 1, 2008 may show in Youth Classes.
Sub-Junior: 4 yrs through 7
Junior: 8 yrs through 10 yrs,
 
Intermediate: 11 yrs through 13 yrs,
Senior: 14yrs through 18yrs.

Youth Prices are $10 per class not to exceed $30 - Youth classes only
this does not include ALSA halter classes

Wool Divisions:
 Suri: The Suri fleece should have a natural luster and hang and drape over the llamas body, usually forming a natural part along the spine. The fibers are grouped into a very distinctive and well defined lock structure. See complete description ALSA 15 th Edition.
Light Wool: Minimal body wool, short neck wool with smooth legs.
Medium Wool: Moderate to long body wool, minimal to moderate neck wool, smooth to moderate leg wool.
Heavy Wool: Abundant body and neck wool with minimal to abundant leg wool (i.e. leg wool at least to knee and hock)

Only the show judge may move a llama from one wool division to another.

Mini Llama Class Info:
Immature Class:
A registered llama under 3 yrs. of age and the Dam is a
registured MATURE Mini OR the Dam is FOUNDATION Stock AND
the Sire is a registered Mini.
Mature Class:  A registered llama 3 yrs. of age or older that measures
no more than 38 inches at the withers.
