What a dark and dreary road we have traveled, so alone and lonely. Had I but known, or you, that love, true love, was just a breath away. Oh how the fates have been unkind. They led us on a merry chase~bringing us together~to late~was it only days, hours, only moments away?
How my heart cries, I feel such pain surround me. Total dispair fills me, anguish eats away at my soul.
My thoughts drift into a dreamy paradise, and for a moment, a small space in time, I see a future that might have been. Where love surrounds me and holds me safely in it's arms, at peace, but...
Alas, it is only my thoughts drifting, and the reality seems more than I can bear. I feel the need to lie down, close my eyes, and dream forever~What sweet release, to dream, if only that were my reality.
That destiny be so unkind, I question, without relief, but, I can't give up, I won't...
I must not close my eyes, for then I am lost, and
Hope dies with me.
