Sirius, formed by Draconiis and Vukodlak, emerged with a well-received demo in 1998 that granted them a deal with Samoths record label Nocturnal Art. And indeed, their 2000 debut CD Aeons of Magic is heavily influenced by Emperors sound. They became a very promising name in the field of Symphonic Black Metal, and the following CD, Spectral Transition Dimension Sirius, released the following year, was also a strong offering, if slightly different in sound. It featured guest appearances by Faust (ex-Emperor), Samoth (Emperor) and Dmon (Limbonic Art), and an Emperor cover, The Majesty of the Nightsky. They changed their vocalist (dropping Lord Gornoth) and seemed to be heading towards Metal stardom, since they even signed a deal with Nuclear Blast. However, in quite unexpected a move, Draconiis was left by all other members of the band, apparently due to the musical direction he wanted to take Sirius in (something around NuMetal (!) - Strapping Young Lad, Fear Factory, Machine Head, Nine Inch Nails, Rammstein and Slipknot or Rob Zombie were all cited as influences). The band then disappeared, although Draconiis seems to have tried to get a new line-up, at one time apparently composed by Norwegian musicians.

Now we finally realise Sirius is gone, since Draconiis changed his name to [Nexion] and decided to use his Nuclear Blast deal on a brand new non-Black Metal band called Re:aktor.
