After a few shows, the first demo-tape, 'Where the Foreland Becomes Holy Ground' was released in 1998. The demo was very well accepted and the band continued to play a few more shows.
Right after that, Nuno Concei��o left the band and in 1999 Sandro Marinho stepped in to occupy his place as the new lead guitar player. The band pondered the recruiting of a female singer but after a few tries that idea was forgotten. During the year 2000 Invoke� s second demo 'From Within' was released. Some tracks were played in Tocabrir 2000 contest. Significant changes followed with Caveirinha leaving the drummer stool empty (replaced temporarily by David) and also the departure of Raul Costa (Bass Guitar and founding member) and Sandro Marinho (Lead Guitar). In 2001, to replace the vacant seats December joined behind the drumkit, Spiritus as second synths player together with Riwall and Victor in the bass guitar. The third demo released by Invoke 'Looking Through Me' was released in 2002. By the end of 2002/beginning 2003 a few line-up changes occur: a new lead guitar player, Anonis, joins the band to leave after a few months. Victor is replaced by Anonymous God on the bass guitar. In late 2003/early 2004 Invoke continued to play some shows and again some line-up changes took place: Spiritus decided to leave the band and Blood Heart steps in as the new Lead guitar player. During 2004 the band will record and release its first album that will contain a few changes in the sound. It will be called 'Next of Kin' and it will show the band�s many influences in the form of more speed, more brutality and despair.
