Fear Thy Name were created in 1998 by Hugo Santos and Ivo Neves, guitar players, after some line-up attempts, they were joined by Ricardo Silva (vocals), Ricardo Teixeira (drums) and Rui Monteiro (bass). Daniel Silva replaced their drummer, and so the present line-up was completed in the summer 2001. In 2002 they recorded their debut CD entitled �I � The Awakening�.
