This Mexican manga artist is highly inspired by the Japanese (J-pop) culture; taking of it the aesthetic and expressionism that has developed a different style that is correctly called Mexican or American Manga.
�Manga� is the Japanese term used to define �Comic� or sequential art, starting from here a lot of terms used in Japanese language are very related with this artist own life, as �Mangaka� or Artist and �Chara� an abbreviation for Character.
Although most of people think that �All the japanese characters (and variations) look like the same...� in Favio�s work we can find a peculiar and different style, a graphic proposal certainly based in the precepts of this country but with his own and fresh touch.
The adopted flourishes of their characters make us remember the basic characteristics of any japanese cartoon that we all know: Big saucer eyes, little sharp nose, tiny mouth and large occidental type legs (this is not because of japanese�s people complex. It�s just an inheritance by the first manga creators as Osamu Tezuka.) And favio�s style is now a contribution to hybrid styles borning in other countries out of Japan.
As stories creator and artist, Favio has took a place in Mexican and American publications as Noroeste journal with a story called �Gatop�a� or �Kitty Knites� from 1996 to 1998, Great Fair of Tales, a Mexican contest where they published in 1999 his story called �Dreamland� or �Dreams�. Actually his work is being published in America as artist for �Morning Glory the faerie� a tittle of Amanita Press. Also he�ve done collaborations and illustrations for magazines as Plan B, Animanga, Erszebet and Oh my Goddess!.
The constant effort and spirit in the work of this young creator is something to be shown and definitely represent one of the best beginnings in the contemporary and competitive world of comics.

Aunque es de origen mexicano, la cultura japonesa ha inspirado a este autor profundamente; su est�tica y expresi�n influenciados por el J-pop se ven reflejados en su obra, sobre todo en el tipo de c�mic que es acertadamente llamado manga mexicano.
�Manga� es el t�rmino japon�s equivalente para C�mic o historieta, de aqu� es que parte de la vida propia del autor se v� relacionada �ntimanente con otros t�rminos japoneses como �mangaka� que significa Dibujante y �Chara� una abreviaci�n de Character o personaje.
A pesar de que la mayor�a de la gente piensa que �todos los dibujos japoneses (y sus derivados) son iguales...� en el trabajo de Favio podemos encontrar un estilo diferente, una propuesta gr�fica basada
ciertamente en los c�nones del pa�s oriental, pero con una frescura y un estilo propios.
Los rasgos adoptados de sus personajes recuerdan las caracter�sticas b�sicas de un personaje de caricatura japonesa que todos conocemos, que a saber son: ojos grandes, nariz peque�a y largas piernas de tipo occidental (que dicho sea de paso, no se debe a complejos de los orientales; sino a c�nones precisos de los inicios del manga), y se puede decir que su trabajo ya es tomado en cuenta como una aportaci�n a los estilos h�bridos nacientes en otros pa�ses fuera de Jap�n.
Como creador de historietas, Favio ha participado en diferentes publicaciones de nuestro pa�s y del extranjero como: Peri�dico Noroeste con la historieta �Gatop�a� de 1996 a 1998, Gran Feria de la Historieta de la ciudad de M�xico en 1999 y actualmente su trabajo se publica en Estados Unidos en la historieta �Morning Glory the Faerie� para Amanita Press. Adem�s sus colaboraciones e ilustraciones han aparecido en revistas como: Plan B, Animanga, Erszebet y Oh my Goddess!.
El esfuerzo constante y esp�ritu emprendedor de este joven creador, es una muestra a seguir y definitivamente su trabajo constituye uno de los mejores inicios en el competido mundo del comic actual.
