"Pan! What are you doing here!? I thought you were at school!" Videl yelled, shaking her sleeping daughter. "Get up, you're late!"
Pan shot up, looking around. "Oh no! I was supposed to meet Mel!"
"I think you should worry about getting to school on time, young lady." Videl crossed her arms and started to walk off. "Your father won't be happy about this."
"Oh just great, I've got homeroom with him again." She muttered, standing up and grabbing clothing before heading for the bathroom.
The girl washed and dressed hurridly, grabbing the toast set out by her mother and shooting out the door. She took off into the air and sighed, it was going to be a long day.
***
Pan arrived in her classroom just as the final bell rang, she jumped into her seat and sighed in relief when she saw her father enter the room soon after her.
"Nice of you to join us in class today, Miss Son." He gave her a dirty look. "It's unfortunate that you couldn't make it home last night."
"What?" Pan looked up. "Dad... I mean Mr. Son, what are you talking about?"
"You know very well." He crossed his arms.
Pan looked around her classroom and saw confused faces. "Uh... no I don't." She stood up and walked to the front of the room. "Dad, you're embarrassing me."
Gohan shrugged. "You should have thought of that before you didn't come home."
"But I did come home." She insisted.
"Look, Pan. I've heard the rumors about you and Jerry. I know it's not my business what you do with your boyfriends... but I am your father, and while you live under my roof, you'll come home at night." He said quietly.
"What!?" She nearly shrieked. "He said I slept with him?!"
The whole class looked up.
Pan slammed her fists on Gohan's desk so hard that it cracked. "I'll kill him."
"Pan, settle down." The scholarly Saiyan said, noting her rising ki.
"He said I slept with him!! That's not true!" She insisted.
Gohan stood up. "Come with me."
Pan followed her father, cursing to herself. She was on the verge of Super Saiyan; her hair blew back and her eyes glazed as the two exited the classroom.
"Whoa." Melissa said. "I'd hate to be Jerry."
"I heard they slept together." Another student piped.
"Well, they didn't." The girl snapped. "I know what happened, I saw her after the date."
Outside the classroom, Pan glared with hate at the 'student of the week' board, featuring none other than Jerry. "Shiiiiiinee!" She charged a ki blast.
"Pan!" Gohan stepped in front of her. "Tell me what's going on here."
"That bastard! That lying son-of-a-scumbag.... I'll kill him!" She stomped her foot. "He's telling people he scored with me!"
"He didn't?" Gohan asked, perplexed.
"Of course not!" She growled. "We were in Satan City, driving around, and we parked. He started getting busy, but I told him to stop. When he didn't, I went Super Saiyan and blew up his car."
"You....!" Gohan's mouth flapped like a fish's. "You went SSJ in front of him?"
"He was trying to rape me!! What was I supposed to do, let him!?" She hollared.
"No, no... you did the right thing... but did it require going Super Saiyan?" He asked more quietly, seeing teachers poke their heads out of other rooms.
"He wasn't taking no for an answer. I wasn't thinking clearly enough to just blast him with power... I got angry and it just happened." She sighed. "I did get a little carried away, but he deserved it."
"He did." Gohan's eyes narrowed.
"Dad, stay out of it." She warned. "I can handle it. If I want your help, I'll ask for it. I ran into Mel, or rather she and David ran into me, and we had ice cream, that's why I got back late. You were asleep when I got in."
"I would have heard you." He said skeptically.
"I came in through the window because I didn't want to wake you... question though... did you know Trunks was there?" She asked carefully.
"Yes." Gohan answered. "After he dropped your car off, he asked if he could wait up for you to thank you personally... why, he didn't try anything, did he?"
"What?!" Pan exclaimed. "Dad, we were right next door, don't you think you'd have heard..."
"You know as well as I do that Saiyans, demis included, sleep like rocks." He crossed his arms.
"Well, we didn't. We just talked for a while, he went home, I went to bed." She shrugged. "Dad, the bell's gonna ring any second now."
"Right, right." He started for the classroom again. "And Panny."
"Hmm?" She asked from behind.
"I'm proud of you. You stood up for yourself." He ruffled her hair.
Pan smiled and fixed her hair. "Crap, I lost my bandana!"
Gohan shrugged and entered the classroom again. "Please excuse the interuption, class. Ms. Son and I had a misunderstanding."
"So did she sleep with Jerry?" One of the more obnoxious students asked.
Gohan was about to tell the kid he had detention when Pan AND Melissa smacked him upside the head.
"You got bitch-slapped, man!" One of his 'friends' laughed.
The rest of the class laughed and Gohan smirked.
"What was that all about?" The blonde girl asked Pan.
"Just came in late." She answered. "So, did you make those things I asked for?"
"Yup." She grinned and patted her backpack.
"Cool, we can put them up during our free period." The quarter-Saiyan grinned back.
The dismissal bell rang and the class left from homeroom.
"You coming, Mel?" Pan asked.
"Just a sec, I'll meet you by your locker, k?" She said.
"Okay." She said cheerfully and exited, waving to her father briefly.
Melissa waited until everyone else had left before approaching Gohan, who was filing some papers in his brief-case. "Mr. Son?"
"Hmm?" He looked up.
"Uhm, I ran into Pan last night... after her date... and just wanted to tell you that all those rumors really aren't true. Jerry's spreading them to get back at her for.. eh... blowing up his car." She said. "Just so you know."
"Yeah, she told me." He said.
"Just thought a witness on her behalf might close any doubt." She informed. "I'm gonna be late. Have a good day, Mr. Son."
"You too, Melissa." He smiled.
The blonde girl left the classroom and went to meet Pan.
***
Pan shoved her books in her locker and pulled some others out.
"Hello, sweet thing." A voice purred in her ear.
The girl dropped her book and turned around quickly. "You jerk! You scuzy peice of shit!! You told everyone you got some!"
"You pain me, Panny. Really, to think I would sink so low as spreading rumors." He said dramatically.
Within a blink of an eye, Jerry was slammed against the lockers, Pan glaring death at him. "Stay out of my way, Jerry no yaro. Or you'll have more damage than just your car, next time."
People were already looking.
The football player pulled himself free, not looking very scared, and fixed his jacket. "You don't have anything on me, Pan. You keep threatening me, though, and you'll have a lawsuit on your hands. You'll pay. No one turns Jerry down."
Pan crossed her arms. "Well, Jerry, looks like there really is a first time for everything. You're little game of seduction may work on others, but it won't work on me."
"You still just a slut." He spat.
Pan's eyes flared with dark fire.
"You probably lost your virginity to some drunken idiot of a date because you were too stupid to know what was happening. And then you slept with every other guy you met, like that purple-haired freak? How many times he bone you?" He smirked at her reaction.
Pan was shaking with rage.
Bra came running up and shook Pan out of it. Her blue eyes turned a glare so Vegeta-worthy onto Jerry that he backed up.
"Leave." Pan whispered. "Get away from me before I send you to the next dimension right here and now."
Bra pushed Pan to the side and stepped up to the football player. "You slam my family again, and you'll be wishing you were dead. My brother is ten times the man you'll ever be. He doesn't need to rape girls to get them, unlike you. If you thought Pan was scary last night, you ain't seen nothing yet."
"Yeah, I'm scared of chibi Bra." He crossed his arms.
"You should be." Melissa said, leaning against a nearby locker.
"Bring it on, girlie." He smirked.
"Don't tempt me." She turned her back to him and crossed her arms, a contemptuous look on her face that would have made her father proud. "I don't have time to waste on ningen." She purred.
"Better run." Pan smirked as well, standing by her friends. "Wouldn't want to get humiliated by girls, would you?"
"This isn't over, Son." He vowed before pushing through the crowd and disappearing.
"Get outta here!" Melissa dispersed the crowd. "This isn't a show."
"You okay, Pan-chan?" Bra asked after the crowd was gone.
"He called me a slut." She growled.
"Hey, Panny, don't worry about it. He's fighting back the only way he can now. I just can't wait for him to come up to us so we can kick his ass." Her canines shown in her grin.
"Again." The raven-haired girl added.
"Uhm... hi." Pam said quietly. "I saw the crowd... what happened?"
"Nothing, just a little tiff." The girl said. "How're you?"
"I'm great. What about you?" She said in her shy voice.
"Been better." Pan sighed. "Listen, We're gonna be late for class, we'd better go. Sit with us at lunch, okay?"
"Really?" She asked hopefully.
"Yeah, our families go way back, you're always welcome with us." The quarter-Saiyan said.
"Thanks." She smiled brightly.
Bra and Pan both noticed how pretty she was when she smiled like that. Her face practically glowed.
"I'll see you guys later, too." Melissa grabbed her bag and waved slightly as she started walking. "I'll disperse those flyers during my classes."
"See ya later, Mel!" Pan called. "You too, Pam."
"Bye bye." She said as she turned to go to class, her blonde curls bouncing against her back.
"We've got World History next." Bra informed. "Let's get going."
"Right." The two started down the hall.
***
Trunks and Juunana-gou pulled up to the school in the demi-Saiyan's brand new car.
"We can just hang out until their lunch break." Trunks announced, turning the car onto accessories and popping in a cd.
"Why are we here again?" They cyborg asked.
"To eat lunch with the girls." Trunks shrugged.
"I thought Goten was coming." He said.
"He's always late." The purple-haired warrior laughed. "That's why I gave him the wrong time. He should be here just a few minute early."
Juunana-gou smiled slightly. "Hey, I felt Pan go Super Saiyan last night. Do you know anything about it?"
"Yeah, she and her date didn't hit it off." Trunks grinned devilishly. "She blew up his car."
This time Juunana-gou smiled full out. "So, who was the guy?"
"Captain of the football team." He answered. "Just about the biggest jackass I've ever met... aside from maybe my father, but he doesn't count because he at least has some redeeming qualities."
"That bad, ne?" The jinzouningen questioned.
"Worse." Trunks muttered.
"So I take it they're not going out again." He said casually.
"What's with all the questions about Panny and her social life?" Trunks raised a pale eyebrow. "You wouldn't happen to be jealous, would you?"
"Ano.. no." He shook his head. "Why would I be jealous."
"I dunno." The younger man grinned to himself.
"There's Goten." Juunana-gou changed the subject.
"Yo, Goten, get your butt down here!" Trunks called.
"Sorry I'm late, man." He rubbed the back of his head sheepishly.
"Don't worry, we told you the wrong time so you'd be here early instead of late." He grinned.
"Yaro." Goten smacked him. "It's nice to see such faith in your friends."
"Aww, Gomen, Goten." He smirked.
"Hey, there are the girls." The cyborg informed.
"Pan! Bra!" Over here!" Goten called.
"Go-chan!" Bra squealed and dashed foward, leaping into his arms.
Trunks glared at his friend and sister. "Goten..."
"Don't give me that look, I swear we haven't done anything." Goten held up his hands, dropping Bra.
"Yeah, Goten's too clumsey." Bra poked his ribs.
"Who're your friends?" Juunana asked Pan.
"This is Melissa, and this is Pam." Pan introduced. "Guys, this is my friend Trunks, my favorite number, Juunana-gou, and my uncle Goten. Trunks and Goten are a little off, but Juu-kun's normal as they come."
"In England." Trunks smirked.
"Shuddup, Trunks-kun, or I'll kick your butt." Pan smiled sweetly. "And you know I could since you stopped training."
"Yeah, I don't see how you can do it. I learned to fight just as you guys stopped fighting! What's up with that?" Bra poked her older brother's ribs. "Well, I won't let Goten get sluggish!"
"Keep me on my toes, ne?" He grinned and kissed her.
"Kawaii!" The two blondes squealed.
"Uck." Trunks and Pan spat.
Juunana-gou remained neutral.
"So, where are we going?" The girls piled in the car.
"There's not enough room for all of us." Goten pointed out.
"If we double up we can. Umm... Pan, why don't you sit in Juunana-gou's lap." Trunks smirked mischieviously at the android boy. "Bra can sit on Goten's lap, and then we'll have just enough."
"Good plan, oniisan." Bra said.
Pan shrugged and jumped out of the car and opened the front door. "Butt coming through, Juu-kun." She plopped into his lap. "Hi."
"Hello." He said with a small smile and a trace of a blush.
Pan moved so she could talk to her friends and Juunana-gou turned with her so she wouldn't have to strain her neck.
"How was class?" Pan asked Melissa.
"Mr. Baumbut, is a butt." Mel said resolutely.
"I remember him." Came from four voices.
"Man, I wanted to kill him. Does he still do the 'claaaasss, do your woooork or you have detentiooooon.' thing?" The quarter-Saiyan asked.
Trunks, Goten, Bra, and Melissa laughed at her impersonation.
"Yes." The blonde said, still giggling. "Although now it's more like 'classssss, you sssstop that noissssssse or elssssse.'"
The others laughed.
"He's got a speech imediment or something." Pan said.
"Yeah, but it wouldn't matter if he was a nicer teacher. Nobody would care if he didn't always say such stupid stuff." Bra added.
The others nodded, remember the horrors of English class.
"Are we almost there? I'm starving!" Bra annouced. "I could eat a horse."
"Or three." Pan added.
"Just ahead." Trunks informed.
Juunana-gou and Pan both turned their heads at the same time to see where they were going, but froze as their lips brushed.
The blondes squealed again. "Kawaii!!"
The two blushed scarlet and quickly turned.
"Gomen, I didn't mean to..." Pan blushed, coughing into her hand.
"Sumimasen(1)." He said sheepishly.
"Shimpai janai(2.)." Pan shrugged it off.
Pan shrugged off the strange half-kiss, but the thoughts lingered in Juunana-gou's mind.
::Why did that feel so right?::
"Hey, earth to Juu." Pan snapped her fingers in front of his face. "We're here, time to get out."
"Right, sorry." He opened the door and helped Pan out of the car before climbing out himself.
"Isn't this your friend's place?" Melissa asked.
"Yeah." Trunks nodded. "Marron insisted we come. Besides, with our appetites, they'll get enough money to live on for the next hundred years."
The other Saiyans nodded sheepishly as they entered.
"Oh no!" Marron said playfully. "Quick code five!"
"Hi, Marron-san." Trunks said charmingly.
"Hello, Trunks-san." She replied. "Taking your little army out for lunch?"
"Infact, I am." He smiled. "And what an army it is."
"Tell me about it." She smiled back. "All right, folks, what'll you have to drink?"
"How about a pitcher of Coke and a pitcher of water." Trunks said.
"No prob. Have a seat at one of the corner booths." She pointed with her pen.
The others started for the table, but Pan lingered a little longer. "Hey, Marron-san."
"Hi, Panny? You and Trunks on a date?" She said playfully.
"Nah, I'm not into Trunks." She shrugged it off.
"Ooh, this is a development. Do tell." She proded. "Have a new interest?"
"Not really.. just wanted to ask about the baby." The girl smiled.
"She's great. We think she'll take those first steps any day now." The blonde woman said proudly.
"That's great." Pan said. "Well, I should go sit with everybody. Have a good day."
"You too." Marron started for the kitchen.
"And Marron." Pan called. "You did get your figure back. Just in case you were wondering."
The woman smiled to herself as Pan ran to meet her friends.
***
After a long, filling lunch, the groups decided that if they didn't hurry they'd be late for classes and work. Or in Goten's case, his mother would come looking for him.
"Juunana-gou, you drive." Trunks tossed him the keys. "I've heard those stories about you and your sister's little cross-country cruise. From what I hear, you were one badass driver."
The cyborg shrugged and hopped in. "Pile in, everyone."
Pan sat in Trunks' lap this time, everyone else in the same order as before.
"Go fast, Juu, we're gonna be late." Bra said.
"Not a problem." He smirked and turned the car on. The cyborg loved to fly, but he loved to drive even more. There was just a certain thrill to it.
"Buckle up, all who aren't Saiyan or cyborg." Trunks ordered.
Before they could do as Trunks said, they were zooming off into the distance.
"Woo! Go Juu!" Pan called, raising her arms like she was on a roller coaster. "You're the bomb!"
Bra and Goten were also having fun, although Trunks looked concerned for the safety of his new car.
"You are so picking us up." Bra commanded.
The cyborg grinned and floored it.
Within little more than minutes, the group was back at the school, slightly car-sick, but intact otherwise.
"Come get us after school, Juu." Pan said as she started inside.
"I'm expecting you to be there too, Go-chan." Bra called.
The two men looked at eachother and shrugged.
"Ack, I gotta get back to work." Trunks said looking at his watch. "And I only have five minutes! Juunana-gou, take my car, I've gotta fly."
"Sure." The jinzouningen pocketed the keys and turned to Goten.
"I'm bored." He sighed.
"Want to see a movie or something?" Juunana asked. "Kill time until school gets out?"
"Sure! There's a new Juckie Chun movie coming out today." The demi-Saiyan offered. "Except.. I don't have any money."
Juunana-gou pulled out his wallet. "Me neither. Payday's not until next week."
"How do you survive without food for a week!?" Goten exclaimed.
"I don't need to eat, remember. I can, but I don't require it. Besides, if I did get the sudden craving for food, I could just hunt something." He pointed out.
"Oh, yeah." The demi-Saiyan sighed. "So, what're we gonna do?"
"Want to check out the school?" He asked.
"I guess... I haven't been there for ages." The warrior considered. "All right."
The two started for the Orange Star highschool.
***
"Hey, Mr. Lasus!" Goten jogged up. "Long time no see."
The teacher lifted his glasses and looked the Son boy over. "Son Goten?"
He nodded. "That's me."
"How're you?" He asked. "Still making trouble with Mr. Briefs?"
"Every day." Goten grinned. "I'm surprised to see you're still teaching here... it's been a long time."
"Well, I'm not that old, son." He said.
"I didn't mean... sorry." Goten blushed. "But it has been about ten years."
"The time does fly, doesn't it?" He asked.
"Sure does." He responded.
"You wouldn't happen to be related to a Son Pan, would you?" Lasus inquired.
"Yes, she's my neice. Do you have her in a class?" He inquired.
The teacher nodded. "She's in honors. I wonder how such an outstanding student as Pan could be related to you..." He grinned.
"Haha." Goten said, still smiling. "Well, my friend and I were going to explore the school, see if we can meet any other familiar faces. It was nice seeing you again."
"Yes, likewise." Goten said, waving slightly as he turned. "Hey, Juu-... where'd he go?"
***
Juunana-gou was exploring the halls on his own, looking at trophy cases, peeking in at classes here and there.
"But... you can't fire me! I've been working here for twenty-five years!" A voice exclaimed.
The cyborg turned to the direction the voice was coming from.
"I'm sorry Mr. Redmon, our staff is full. Your services are no longer needed." Another voice said calmly.
"This is because of my retirement." He stated. "The school doesn't want to have to pay for the extra costs, so you're firing me instead, four months from my retirement."
"I'm sorry, this meeting is over. You have your notice, you have until the end of the week." A tall, lanky man exited the office and disappeared down the hall.
"What am I going to do?" The old man asked himself, standing up and entering the hallway.
Juunana-gou turned so it wouldn't look like he'd been eavesdropping, but was very surprised when the man ran into him.
"Oh, I'm sorry, son." The man shook his head. "Seems I'm getting senile in my old age."
"My fault." He replied automatically.
"Andrew?" The man squinted at Juunana-gou, rubbing his eyes and taking his glass off. "Andrew Jacobson?"
"Uhm... that's not my name... anymore." He sighed. "Do I know you?"
"I'm Professor Redmon, tenth grade science. But... it can't be you... you look the same as you did nearly forty years ago. You must be his son, with those eyes and all. I remember his were green." He said.
The cyborg's brow furrowed in concentration, trying desperatly to place the face, but he couldn't. "I'm sorry, I had a... memory loss... a long time ago. I don't remember you, but if you could give me some information, that'd be great."
"Is... is it really you?" He asked.
"Hai, it's me. The computer said that's what my name was." He blurted. "Ano, scratch that."
"How about you explain what's going on, and I'll see what I can do." The man clapped his shoulder.
Juunana glanced at his watch and nodded and the two started down the hall.
"So, tell me what happened to your memory." Mr. Redmond said.
"Ano, it's sort of a long, complicated, and very hard to believe story." He said.
"I've heard alot of tall tales, boy. Nothing shocks me anymore." He assured. "So go on."
"All right. Well, I don't know exactly when, but sometime towards the end of highschool, my sister and I were kidnapped by a madman named Dr. Gero. He changed us... changed us from humans to jinzouningen." The cyborg explained. "He wiped our memories and gave us programming to kill a man named Son Goku, but we hated him for what he'd done to us, and I killed him."
The man gasped quietly, but allowed him to continue.
"There were warriors. Goku's friends, and we fought them, but didn't kill them. No need, really. What we didn't know was that Gero had created others, like a bio-demon named Cell. Only problem was, he needed to absorb Juuachi-gou and me to become complete. You might remember the Cell games." He paused.
"I do." He responded.
"We were aborbed, but while fighting Cell, Gohan knocked Juuhachi out somehow... I was still part of him until Cell was killed. They used magical orbs called dragonballs to wish everyone Cell killed back to life. That included me. But since Goku had died more than once, he stayed dead. Juuhachi-gou and I were unoffically declared good-guys, since we were no longer a threat. And I've been living in the woods, training occasionally, searching for information about my past since then." He sighed. "So, how do you know me? How did you recognize me after all this time?"
"I tutored you personally for that year. You had this thing about not disecting animals in biology... ironically enough. So I offered to let you get away with it if you studied the material with me and got a b or higher on the test. You didn't want your grades to suffer, so you did." The teacher explained. "I transferred here to Orange Star a few years later, but I never forgot you. I never forget any of my students."
"Do you know anything about my past? Where my parents live?" Juunana-gou questioned. "Any of my friends, things I did...?"
"Ah, yes. Katherine is a fine woman. She still talks to me occasionally, after her husband passed, we ran into eachother and started talking. I have her address, if you want it." He offered.
"Hontou ni?" He blinked.
"Of course." The teacher shrugged and handed him a card. "She gives these to everyone."
"Arigatou!" He exclaimed. "Thank you so much... you don't know how much this means to me!"
"It's all right, son. Just remember to come visit an old cook once in a while, ne?" He clapped his shoulder again.
"Yes, sir." He bowed. "Arigatou, again. I have to go find my friends and tell them."
"Ja 'ne." He waved.
"Bai bai!" Juunana-gou didn't even bother running; he flew right down the hallway, following Pan's ki. He knocked on the classroom door.
"Yes?" The teacher asked.
"May I borrow Pan for a minute?" He asked. "It's urgent."
"Who are you?" She asked.
"Juunana-gou, a family friend. Please, it's very important." He pleaded, giving his best puppy-dog look.
"Fine, only for a moment." The woman motioned for Pan to come.
"Juu? What are you doing here?" She asked.
"Goten and I decided to hang around until school got out, but that's not important. Our search is over! I ran into someone that knew me in highschool and he knows my mother.. I have an address!" He exclaimed, smiling wider than she'd ever seen on his normally solemn face.
Pan squealed happily and leapt into his arms. "Juu-kun, I'm so happy for you!!" She spun around, holding his hands. "You did it!"
"We did it." He corrected. "Will you come with me?"
"Me?" She gasped softly. "Why?"
"You helped me get this far. I couldn't have done it without you." He said. "So, will you?"
"You're always there for me, Juu, there's no way I wouldn't be there for you." She hugged him again.
"Thanks, Panny." He said, awkwardly bringing his arms around her.
"Class is out in like ten minutes, just wait here, I'll get permission to leave." She stepped back in.
Juunana-gou smiled and sighed happily. Things didn't get any better than this.

(1.) Sorry about that!
(2.) Don't worry about it.
