Akane is Ranmas fiancee, although she'd rather not be. It was an agreement between their parents. Although akane says she hates Ranma, like all the time, she really does have strong feelings for him.
Akane at first, seems to be a rough girl who likes to hit people a lot. However, this is only one side of Akane. Underneath she is very sensitive. Her violent behaviour could have come from the fact that her Mother died when she was very young.
Akane adopted Ryoga (as a pig) and called him P-Chan. She doesn't know that the little pig who sleeps in her bed is really Ryoga.
