Look out! *gasps, pause for dramatic effect* … Thank you.

Author’s Notes:

These fics were greatly inspired by our group’s late night trysts. We watched a marathon of horror-thriller movies until morning during the holidays. And then, we had to suffer for about a week from nightmares. Guys, don’t do that if you have a weak heart. This is a compilation of ghost stories that I’ve either made up or heard. Other books are from different fandoms (YYH, CCS, Bakuretsu Hunters, HunterxHunter, etc…). If you wanna read everything then, you’re just gonna have to wait until I get my own site up. ^^;;;;. Hope you like it. Thanks to QY for letting me use one of her titles.

Story One

The Elevator

Dr. Saitou Hajime’s golden eyes narrowed in impatience as he waited for the hospital’s elevator to descend. He stared at the lit up numbers on top of the door and willed them to go faster. He needed to hurry, he had other patients waiting.

After a few minutes of glaring and grumbling, the elevator buzzed and the metal doors slid open.

Saitou grunted and stepped inside. A young, tall man grinned at him from inside. The pissed doctor ignored him but raised an eyebrow at the careless spiky, brown locks and the white hospital gown the boy wore.

“Going up?” the lanky, young man asked.

Saitou hn’ed then a movement caught his eye.

They both turned to see a very tall man walking towards the still opened elevator. Long, dark bangs obscured his features but he was wearing a hospital gown as well, his movements fluid and graceful as he walked.

Saitou saw the boy hold the door for the obvious passenger and he leaned back, waiting until…

“Hey!” the young boy cried out in protest as the metal doors slid close, rubbing his hand where Saitou had slapped it away from the elevator’s controls.

The doctor’s face had gone a pasty white and chocolate orbs stared at him, confused. “What’s wrong, Doc?” he asked, seeing the name and profession on Saitou’s white coat. “That guy was gonna ride with us, didn’t you see?”
Saitou took a moment to even his breathing. “Are you a patient here? What’s your name?” he asked back a bit relieved that the elevator started to ascend.
“Sanosuke Sagara. Call me Sano and- wait a minute!” the young man protested. “Why didn’t you let that other guy in, hunh? You meanie.”

Saitou shook his head. “That man was Aoshi Shinomori…”

            “Was?” Sano echoed.

Saitou nodded. “Yes. He was my patient a few months ago. He died last week of leukemia.”

Sano digested this then stared, doubtful at the doctor. “How d’ya know he’s dead? He looked alive to me…”

Saitou exhaled, sharply, still jilted. “You saw that red bracelet on his right wrist? They put it on him before he was transferred to the morgue. It means he died of natural causes."

Sanosuke thought for a moment then brightened.

Saitou looked on, questioningly, as Sano stepped near him.

The young man nodded and held out his right arm. “You mean like this one?”

Story Two

The Man with the Golden Eyes

Sanosuke Sagara’s brown eyes narrowed as he tried to focus on the lone figure standing a few feet from him. Not again., he thought as glinting gold eyes turned his way. Not this creepy cop again.

Sano had always been seeing the golden eyed cop during his nocturnal walks. It wasn’t that the cop scared him. It was just that the cop never bothered to approach him and it was weird. Weren’t cops supposed to protect citizens and question suspicious individuals? And he’d been seeing the cop for almost weeks now and never did he once tried to question Sano’s comings and goings. Weird, right?

Sano grinned suddenly. Or maybe he looked urbanely angelic that the cop never suspected him of wrong behavior.

“Six-five.” Sano chortled. But, the cop’s golden eyes had intrigued him a lot. It’s like… they were familiar…

With a shrug, Sano shoved his hands in his pockets and sauntered over the oblivious cop.

Golden eyes flickered as Sano stood beside the cop. This near, Sano realized the cop was no older than he was. A rookie as the cop’s ID read.

            “Hiya…”

            A thin eyebrow rose. “Hn.”

            “”Sup, cop?”
The man turned to him, eyebrows crossed. “What are you doing here?”

Sano gave him a dirty look. “Excuse me?” he demanded. “You own the place or something?”

The young cop was clearly taken aback. “You’re…”

“Sanosuke Sagara. I live in those apartment houses a few blocks back.”

The cop looked shocked. He continued staring at Sanosuke until the boy began to bristle. “What?”

The golden eyes narrowed and Sano felt drawn to them once again. “What’s your name?”

“H-hajime Saitou…” For a moment, Saitou looked utterly surprised and then he seemed to relax and the cool mask was back on his face. “Hn.”

Sano was grinning. “You from around here?”

Saitou shrugged. “Go home, Sanosuke. You don’t belong here.” he said and turned to go.

Sanosuke bristled, glaring at the cop’s back. He was about to yell an insult when Saitou suddenly vanished into the dark streets.

Sano felt goosebumps rise on his skin and he found himself running for dear life.

*****

“A ghost?” Sano’s friend, Kenshin, echoed as they sat on the redhead’s front porch.

“Yeah… he just vanished into thin air like that.” Sano said, snapping his fingers. “Creepy…” he added, shuddering.

Kenshin violet eyes were intent on Sano. “Are you sure?”

“”Of course, I’m sure!” Sano huffed, annoyed. “Would I make up something like that?”

Kenshin stare did not waver. “No, I don’t think so…”

            Sano glared at him.

The redhead sweatdropped. “But, you said you’ve been seeing him for weeks now.”

Sano looked as if he just realized that. “Maybe, I’ll see him again tonight, you think?”
Kenshin’s amiable face suddenly closed with pain. “I think it’s best if you forget that incident, Sano.”

“Why, man?” he demanded. “Besides… it’s as if I know this guy. He looks…”

“Familiar?” Kenshin finished. His face grew darker as Sano nodded. “It won’t do any good, Sano. Just forget it.”

Sano made a face. “What? Suddenly you’re my mother?”

Kenshin flushed. “I’m sorry. But, this man…”

“Is cool. And I like him. I’ll go see if he’s still there tonight.”

*****

Sano’s grinned widened, his fear completely gone as the man with the golden eyes once again stood at the place where he had been these previous nights.

            “Six-five!”

Saitou turned and his eyes seemed to glow before he addressed Sano. “What are you doing here?”

“Just wanna talk, man. Is this your post every night?”
Saitou stared at him for a bit before shrugging. He looked around the empty streets before glancing back at Sano. “You’re still here.”

“Of course, I am.” Sano glared. “What are you doing here?”

Saitou raised an eyebrow. “Isn’t it obvious? I’m patrolling.”

            “Right.” Sano said, dryly.

They stood there in silence for awhile until Sano turned to Saitou again. “Are you new here? You look familiar.”

Saitou hn’ed. “I should be. I look like my grandfather.”

            Sano was confused. “So…?”

Saitou turned to him again, confused and surprised. “How long have you been here?”

The boy scratched the back of his neck, thinking. “A long time, I guess.” he replied then looked back at Saitou. “But, I haven’t seen you around. Just a few weeks back…”

Saitou nodded, glanced around then began to walk away.

            “Hey…!” Sano called. “You’re leaving?”

Saitou waved a hand but did not look back.

Sano felt ice run up his spine as the young cop made another disappearing act, but this time he didn’t run.

He just very quickly walked back home.

*****

“Not a ghost?” Kenshin murmured, glancing every now and then at Sano, who was sprawled on the temple’s steps, as he swept the yard. “Then, what is he?”

“A cop, I guess.” he chortled.

Kenshin frowned. “I’m serious, Sano.” he scolded and began sweeping with more force. “I think it’s best if you stop going to him. He doesn’t sound friendly.”

“That’s the way he is.” Sano said.

There was silence then Sano sat up to stare at a baffled Kenshin. “Don’t look at me like that. I don’t even know why I said that.”

Kenshin sighed then continued sweeping the yard. “You should stay away from him. He’s not one of us.”

Sano’s ears perked at that. “What do you mean?”

Kenshin did not look at him. “It’s late, Sano. You should go home.”

*****

…golden eyes stared at him through the smoke

            “Ahou.”

            …giggles

            “Shut up, old man.”

Sano shook his head until his vision cleared. “What in hell…?”

            “You’re here again.”

The boy looked up and sure enough there was Saitou, staring at him with narrowed, golden eyes. For a moment, Sano couldn’t remember how he got there.

“Hey, you.” he said to cover his confusion.

One eyebrow rose in acknowledgement. “Hn.”

Sano fidgeted a little, throwing shy glances at Saitou until the cop glared at him. “What?” he growled.

Sano flushed and was very confused at his reactions to the man. He’d just met the cop, wasn’t even … attracted, well, maybe intrigued but…

“You have beautiful eyes.” he blurted out and shook himself, mentally. You have beautiful eyes?!, he snarled at himself. That’s sooo lame, man.

Saitou’s narrow eyes narrowed even more. “You should go, Sano. It’s not safe for you to be here.”

The younger man snorted. “Gimme a break, cop. Will you be here tomorrow night?”

Saitou seemed to have some inner struggle as he stared at Sano then sighed. “I will be.”

Sano’s chocolate eyes shimmered in delight. “See ya then, cop.” he murmured and went off.

*****

Kenshin did not like. Did not approve it. And will not tolerate it. His best friend Sanosuke Sagara had gone off again to meet with the cop. It hadn’t been like this before.

Before, Sano and the cop would talk and then the roosterhead will leave with just a promise of being there the next night.

Now, Sano and the cop would talk in the silent language of new lovers with soft lips and caressing hands. Sano would bring a small blanket for warmth and the cop would be waiting with a smile on his usually stoic face.

It was beautiful… two new lovers discovering each other as the pale moonlight spilled on them in the darkness of night.

But what Kenshin did not like about it… what he did not approve of was the fact that the two did not belong together. Should not even be together. And Kenshin will make sure that it stops… tonight.

“Sano… wait!” he called as the giddy young man stepped out of the temple.

“Yep, Kenshin?” Sano turned to face him, the lovesick flush on his face making Kenshin wince.

“You must stop this, Sano. It’s not…”

Sano frowned. “What the hell are you talking about?”

Kenshin paused at the betrayal in Sano’s voice. He set his doubts aside with grim determination. “You don’t belong together, Sano. He’s not of this world.”

Sano’s face turned an angry red. “You… How can you say that, man? “ he snarled. “You’re just jealous because I’m happy.”

“No, Sano!” Kenshin cut-off. “It’s best you leave him now, stop this stupidity. We have to move on and you, always trying to pretend he’s real isn’t going to help you.”

“What the fuck…?” Sano hissed. “He is real, dammit! I see him, I touch him, I friggin’ let him fuck me every night! You stop with your bullshit because…”

            “He isn’t Hajime, Sano!”

The young man paused, gritting his teeth. He glared at Kenshin for the longest time. “Fuck you, Kenshin.” he said, his voice seething with rage. “Fuck you.” he held Kenshin’s shocked gaze for a minute then stalked off.

The redhead let out a breath, he didn’t realize he’d been holding. “Sano…” he whispered and his loneliness echoed into the night.

*****

Sano wriggled and nuzzled closer to Saitou. They were once again cocooned in the thick warmth of the blankets Sano brought with him. The cop was sleeping, his disheveled head half-covered by Sano’s spiky locks.

He’s not Hajime!, Kenshin’s words echoed in his head and he frowned. What the hell was Kenshin thinking? Hajime was no ghost. They were having sex together! And if that warm body against him wasn’t real then he didn’t know what is.

            “Something’s wrong?”

Sano jumped at the deep voice in his ear and he gave a weak smile. “N-nothing, man. Go back to sleep.”

Saitou shifted so that Sano’s head was on his chest. “I’ll be leaving in a while, anyway.”

            “Mmm.” Sano said.

Silence as they stared at the full moon, each with his own thoughts.

            “Hey, ‘Jime…”

            “Hn.”

“You never told me where you lived?”

There was a pause. “Near the temple.”

Sano looked up at him, surprised. “No kidding, man. I live at the temple.”

Saitou didn’t answer, just remained staring at him with golden eyes.

…golden eyes stared at him through  the smoke.

“I have to go, ahou. You must stay at the temple.”

            …repressed sobs.

            “I’ll wait for you, Hajime.”

Sanosuke shook his head, feeling nauseous. Kenshin’s words echoed in his head again and he sat up, hugging himself as the chills broke out in his body.

            “Sano…?”

            “I-I’m fine, man…”

Saitou sat up as well, rubbing his bare back. “We should go…”

            “Are you real, ‘Jime?”

Silence. Saitou’s hand froze against him.

Sano could hear his heart racing in his chest, he struggled to keep his mouth shut. To just keep quiet so that tomorrow, his cop with the beautiful golden eyes will be there to love him again. But, he couldn’t stop himself as he turn around to face Saitou.

“Tell me, Hajime? Are you real…? Or a ghost in my dream…?”

Saitou stared at him… long and hard and Sano held his breath as Saitou opened his mouth to speak.

            “I’m not a ghost…”

            Sano sighed, relieved.

            “You are.”

*****

“Hajime… You’ll come back for me, right?”

…golden eyes stared softly at him. Strong hands caressed his spiky hair.

“You’ll be safe at the temple. Himura will be there to protect you.”

            … a whimper.

“’Jime, I want you to protect me…”

            …soft sigh.

“I’ll be on the battlefield. I trust that idiot Battoussai will keep you safe.”

            …nervous laughter.

“Come back for me, Hajime. I’ll wait forever.”

            … a soft kiss.

            “I’ll come back. Stay here.”

Sano blinked and there was Kenshin watching over him. He bit his lip as the memories washed over him. His lover, Hajime Saitou, third captain of the Shinsengumi Patrol. Killed in the battlefield over sixty years ago. Remembering the despair as he waited for Hajime to come back and hold him in his arms. Then, came the plague and the last he saw was Kenshin’s face as the redhead closed his eyes a final time.

“Not real… No, ‘Jimeeeee!” Sano screamed, reaching out for his lover in the dark, his hand desperately trying to grab a hold of Hajime. His lover… his dead lover…

“’J-jimeeeeee…” he wailed and Kenshin was there to anchor him, to hold him until the final tide of misery and loneliness washed over him. All that was left was a deep, empty void. A blackness where there would be no one to hold him and no one to cling to in the coldness.

Sano stared out the temple’s windows. “Where’s Hajime?” he asked, quietly, face blank, tears streaming from empty chocolate eyes.

Kenshin held his hand. “He’s moved on, Sano. He knew from the beginning what you were. He wanted to make you happy.”

            Sano nodded, dumbly.

“Your real lover waits for you.” Kenshin whispered. “Just close your eyes and I’ll take you to him.”

Sano’s eyes slowly gave life to tears. “H-he… Hajime?” he asked like a child as he clutched at Kenshin’s frail hands.

The redhead nodded. “I told him I’ll protect you. Now, he’s come for you. Sleep, Sano.” he cooed, stroking the spiky locks. “He’ll be here when you wake up. I promise.”

Sano let out a tired sigh and laid back on the bed, closing teary eyes. Kenshin let him settle down, bringing the covers to the young chin and wiping the tears on the flushed cheeks.

He smiled as Sano whispered a soft prayer. “Hajime…”

*****

Nineteen years later…

Sanosuke Sagara jumped and woke up. What in hell? He’d probably passed out again after that overload of sake. Damn. He needed to quit drinking…

            “Ahou…”

Sano swiveled, quickly in an attacking stance. “Whoa, cop!” he exhaled in relief. “You fuckin’ scared me, man!”

Golden eyes stared, critically, at him. Then the weirdest thing happened as the cop paled in shock, staring at him with an intensity that made Sano bristle.

“What the fuck are you staring at, asshole?”

The cop shook his head and reached out a hand to grab Sano who gave a yelp then quieted down as his mouth was plundered hungrily by the cop’s lips.

A few minutes later, Sano pushed back and threw a punch that the officer deftly missed. “What the hell was that, you fucking queer!” Sano spat, wiping swollen lips.

The cop was smirking. “You’ve been drinking, ahou. What’s you’re name?”

“Sanosuke Sagara to you, asshole.” he growled. “Why’d the fuck did’ja do that?”

“It’s Officer Hajime Saitou to you, ahou.” the cop smirked. “C’mon, I’ll take you home.”

“My ass, dick face!” Sano snorted. “You’d think I’d let you in my house? You’re crazy, man.”

But, Saitou was grinning like an idiot. He’d been waiting for a long time. No way was  he going to let this one go. Not for a very, long time.

Saitou pushed at Sano. “I should arrest you for that, ahou. Sleeping on private property. You’re trespassing on private property.”

Sano bristled. “Ah, fuck off, cop!”

Saitou smirked. “If you don’t start walking, you’ll end up in a private cell in jail. Now, move it.”

Sano stared at the cop. “You’re actually having fun with this, hunh? Dumb cop.”

“Ahou, all I want is to bring you home so I can make sure you don’t bring any more trouble.”

“Trouble, my ass. Are all cops like you?”

            “I’m, actually, the best here.”

“Ah, jeez. No conceit in your family.”

            “You live alone?”
“No. I live with my parents. What a dumb question. Of course, I live alone.”

            “Hn.”

“You’re not planning on ravishing me, are you? I’ve got friends who’re pretty good with swords, y’know…?”

            “Hn.”

“Tell you what… I can walk myself home, cop. Why don’t you go back to serving and protecting the innocents.”

            “Hn.”

            “Are you married?”

            “No.”

            “Me neither, man. Hey…”

            “Hn?”

“You got pretty eyes, man. Cool.”

Story Three

The Lake Watcher

Cho Sawagejo stumbled slightly from the heat. He had been walking for hours and he still couldn’t see a town or a village nearby. He needed to sell his swords… and he needed a drink.

From a distance, he could see a forest clearing. The towering trees  providing cool shade and he quickened his pace, hoping to, at least, get out of the sun for a nap before journeying on.

“Ah…” Cho moaned as he settled himself on some fresh grass under the shade. He flinched when he heard a small giggle and he quickly sat up, both eyes searching the quiet clearing.

“Sorry. Did I disturb you?” came a soft voice and Cho saw a young, very pretty man sitting on a huge slab of rock almost behind the tree he was leaning on. The boy looked delicate with his light blue kimono, sitting demurely, the brown eyes crinkling as he smiled.

Cho grinned. “That’s okay. What’s your name, bishounen?”

“Call me Seijuro.” said the ever-smiling kid. “You look tired. Would you like to have something to drink…?”

Cho almost drooled at the almost sensual invitation. He always had a penchant for young boys with pretty faces. Maybe, this kid…

“You live near here?” Cho asked, forgetting his thirst for the moment, if only to find out if the boy was available as well.

The young man blinked innocent eyes at Cho, his smile turning more inviting. “Yes… I live near a lake not far from here.” he replied. “Alone…”

Cho’s grin widened and he stood up. “Good. How about you take me to this lake before you show me your place.”

Seijuro’s smile widened as well and he stood up, gracefully, beckoning to Cho. “Follow me.”

XD        O_O     ToT      ^_^       >.<         ^^;;;      *_*       x_x      ^_~       :P         H_H

Seijuro giggles as he pried Cho’s hands from his waist, the blond man’s lips on his pale neck. “Don’t be impatient, sir. You should invigorate yourself with a drink first before we do anything more strenuous.”

Cho chuckled and slumped down the grassy meadow. “Then, serve me, bishounen.” he drawled and watched as Seijuro took out a water flask from the wide sleeves of his kimono and began filling it with water while he knelt by the quiet lake.

The blondhead laid back and closed his eyes, grinning to himself as he imagined the many ways he could enjoy the boy. He opened his eyes as he felt the boy straddle his lap.

“Hmmm…” Cho murmured, rubbing Seijuro’s thighs with strong fingers and the young man parted his lips with one slender finger before pouring in the cool water.

Cho’s hands went up, caressing. He deftly peeled off the boy’s upper garments and his fingers found the pink nipples with ease. He rolled them between his thumb and forefinger, grinning at Seijuro’s whimpers.

The boy wriggled on his lap until he could feel Cho’s erection against his own and began circling his hips, careful not to spill the water he was letting Cho drink.

Cho hissed and his face grew serious as he finished off the flask’s contents. He sat up and grabbed the bottle from Seijuro and dropped it somewhere. The boy giggled and pulled open Cho’s shirt to expose his chest. “Delicious…” Seijuro whispered, licking one nipple.

“No more delicious than you are, bishounen.” this Cho murmured against one pale ear before nibbling on an earlobe.

“Oh…!” Seijuro gasped then straightened, pushing Cho down. “Lay back and enjoy…”

Cho grinned and closed his eyes, his fingers playing with pert nipples. One hand caressed upwards until one finger slid in the pouty mouth. Seijuro suckled at the finger, wetting it thoroughly until Cho flinched at the sudden pain. He took out his finger from the boy’s mouth and gasped to see it bleeding from bite wounds.

Seijuro grasped Cho’s wrists in a vise-like grip and held it  over the blond’s head.

            “What in hell…?”

Seijuro smiled, revealing rows and rows of sharp, canine teeth. “You’ll taste good now… not that dry anymore.”

Cho tried to scream and failed.

XDDDDDDDDDD

An hour later, Seijuro came walking back to his seat by the clearing. His clothes were rumpled but clean yet he was licking off blood from his right palm.

He winced suddenly and coughed up blond hair.

“Oh, boy. I keep forgetting hair isn’t edible.” he said smiling.
