| A Country weeps From out of the skies came the angels of death, From out of the lungs of the innocent, the unknown final breath. For some, a quick chance to say goodbye, While others never even had the chance to try. Last words etched forever on greiving minds, while the tears strew down faces, covered by dust and grime. Twin towers now dust, and levelled to the ground. A living monument of fire and smoke for those not yet found. A country now weeps, a nation now mourns, For all who have perished and for those that have to live on. Rongo Maihi Copyright 2003 Rongo Raniera Maihi |
