Dhaka triangular, match 6: South Africa 216-5 (48.4 overs) beat
India 215 (49.1 overs) by five wickets
Neil McKenzie hit a fine half century for South Africa who installed
themselves as potential favourites for Sunday's final with a
confident performance.
The in-form right-hander made 80 from 107 balls as India's total of
215 was made to look decidedly under par.
Harbhajan Singh took three wickets in a tidy spell of off-spin but
was let down by his batsmen earlier in the day and also some
moderate support bowling.
McKenzie and Mark Boucher (44 not out) steered South Africa from
105-4 to the brink of victory with a well-crafted stand of 107 in a
little over 16 overs.
Injury worry
Indian vice-captain Virender Sehwag was forced to retire hurt after
being hit by a ball from paceman Makhaya Ntini earlier in the day.
Team doctors recommended him to rest for 48 hours before the final,
but he returned to the crease at the fall of their fourth wicket.

Sehwag made 25 in a largely undistinguished Indian batting display
and they were indebted to captain Sourav Ganguly, who top scored
with 61 before falling to left-arm spinner Paul Adams.
Allan Dawson was the most successful South African bowler with
figures of 4-49, dismissing Mohammed Kaif (30) and Dinesh Mongia
(29) and later returning to polish off the tail.
South Africa made a poor start to their run chase when skipper
Graeme Smith was caught behind off Avishkar Salvi for two.
And they suffered a double blow when Harbhajan had Herschelle Gibbs
lbw for 25 and then bowled Boeta Dippenaar for 11.
But McKenzie's arrival at the crease calmed things down.
First, he helped Jacques Rudolph add 63 for the fourth wicket,
before he and Boucher came together to see South Africa most of the
way home.
