Hotshots vs Howzats ready to roll

The names of cricketers competing in the Sports Trust Cricket Challenge at the SuperSport Show next Saturday have been released. The two teams, who will be competing in a 25-over per side match at the Tuks Sports Centre, will be led by Neil McKenzie and Dale Benkenstein respectively.

McKenzie's Hotshots will contain Proteas Jacques Rudolph and Steve Elworthy, as well as Lance Klusener, Andrew Hall and Justin Ontong amongst others.

Benkenstein, the Howzats captain, has Herschelle Gibbs, Jacques Kallis, Makhaya Ntini and Justin Kemp to call on, as well as talented local favourite Martin van Jaarsveld. The Challenge, to be televised live on both SuperSport and M-Net, is essentially a means of generating money for cricket development - via the Sports Trust.

Other than watching the event live, members of the public can generate money for cricket development by buying a R10 raffle ticket available at the ground. The winners win two tickets to see the World Cup final at the Wanderers.

Those wishing to make more of an investment can buy a section of advertising space on the ground's perimeter. For R10 000 you can buy space to advertise your company logo - and whenever the logo gets hit during the game, Standard Bank will donate R500 to the Sports Trust.

The third way in which fans can participate in the event is by phoning a special competition line (083-910-5566) and answer a simple question. Winners can scoop a variety of excellent prizes, including grandstand tickets to internationals this season (excluding the World Cup), as well as memorabilia signed by the SA team.

A percentage of money generated by incoming calls will be donated to the Sports Trust.

Other cricketing stars such as Allan Donald, Jonty Rhodes, Mark Boucher and Gary Kirsten will be present on the day.
