Minimum/General Experience: Minimum 8 years practice and/or experience and demonstrated ability pertaining to discipline of which at least five must be specialized. Specialized experience includes: demonstrated experience using current DBMS technologies, application design utilizing various database management systems and experience with DBMS internals. General experience includes increasing responsibilities in DBMS systems analysis and programming.

Functional Responsibility:

• Manages the development of database projects.
• Performs systems DBMS planning, performance management, capacity planning, testing and validation, benchmarking, and information engineering.
• Prepares and delivers presentations on Database Management Systems (DBMS) concepts.
• Participates in facility planning to insure adequate expansion is designed into requirements to accommodate expansion and evolution.  
• Plans and budgets staff and database resources. When necessary, reallocates resources to maximize benefits. Provides daily supervision and direction to support staff.

Experience: 8 + years applicable experience.

Minimum Education: BS in Computer Science or related curriculum; MS preferred. Experience may be substituted depending upon the extent related to program.
