DOBRO GUITAR
This photograph is from a group show of the Central Fraser Valley Graphic Guild at the Mission Art Centre  titled "Family Treasures".

On opening night, I gave a speech and demonstrated the dobro guitar.

Below is a painting I did of my father, who played the dobro in the early 1940's.  The silver dobro I am playing belonged  to him.
The painting above is done in watercolour on illlustration board and uses gesso as a way to achieve white and lightened areas (rather than the traditional method of leaving it blank)

The painting of the "One man band"  is Dave Harris who lives in Victoria and can be seen playing around the city.  I saw him one day at Victoria Harbour.

This painting is now a part of an international show called "Hands Across the Pacific".

This show of international artists from Canada, Korea, Japan and China began in the fall of 2007 in Chilliwack and is now  on it's way to  Tokyos Tower Hall Funabori, from June 30 to July 5, 2008.

The exhibition will then go to Korea and begins July 25th and runs to August 7th, 2008.
