Dr. SK Mishra
Professor, Department of Economics
North Eastern Hill University, Shillong (India)

An econometrician by specialization, Professor Mishra has a special interest in Institutional Economics, both Old (Adam Smith, Veblen, Commons, Mitchell, Myrdal, Galbraith, Scitovski, Georgescu-Roegen) and New (Arrow, North, Posner, Becker, etc. and experimental economists such as VL Smith and D Kahneman). He believes that the institutional approach is most suitable for understanding the functioning and evolution (development) of less-developed economies like India and especially, the North Eastern Region of India.
