As soon as John saw Pocahontas on the ground, he jumped of Sky and ran to her side. �Oh my gosh, Pocahontas? Wake up please� John begged, �I have to get you to the hospital� He lifted her up on Sky and rushed her to ER. Pocahontas was unconscious for three days. Everyday John was their by her side On the fourth day, The doctor told him that there was a slim chance of her ever waking up again.
John was devastated, but knew that somehow, he would wake her up. Later he went back to her room and sat by her bed. He took her hand in his and stated to talk to her. �Come on Pocahontas, please wake up. We were meant to be together. I�m not losing you.� Still nothing happened. There was nothing else to do. Jus t wait. Wait and pray. the days passed slowly. One afternoon, John was sitting by her bed, when all of a sudden, Pocahontas opened her eyes. �Where am I?� she stammered. �Your in the hospital.� John said, �Thank God you�re awake I was so worried I was going to lose you.� �Never� said Pocahontas. �That�s a promise.� johnsmoiled soflty at her before softly leaning over to kiss her. When they realeased he simply held her for awhile. he fianally went to get that doctor, who was amazed to see her alive, awake and doing as well as she was. Over the next few days, Pocahontas continued to improve. John was there almost around the clock to be with her. He had explained about the accident and reassured her that Breeze was fine and she was too. Finally after another week, the docter gave her permission to leave. Before they left, the doctor pulled John aside and told him to take special care of her for the next few days, as she was still a little unsteady on her feet. John reassured him that i t wouldn�t be a problem. On the way home, John asked her what made her wake up. �I heard you when you said we belonged together and I knew you were right.� �As always� John teased, �But just promise me one thing.� �What� �Promise me you�ll never do that to me again?�I promise� Pocahontas said, �Believe me, that�s one that�s going to be very easy to keep� She moved into his embrace and felt that she never wanted to be without him again. When she finally did pull back, she felt a sense of love and belonging and it stayed with her until they reached the village. After they got home, they made plans for a fishing trip later in the week. John kissed her goodnight and went back to his apartment in the Jamestown settlement.

A few days later, Pocahontas and John headed for the lake to go fishing. They had brought a picnic lunch, fishing poles and a lot of bait. John borrowed a rowboat from his ship to use. Once on the lake, they started catching fish. After two hours of fishing, Pocahontas got an idea. She dropped her oar in the water. �OOPS. John, would you get my oar out of the water please?� she asked. �Sure� John said. When he got up to get the oar, Pocahontas playfully pushed him in the water. �What did you do that for� John asked when he surfaced. �Just playing. In fact it was kind of funny� �yeah?� �yes I just happen to think so� She said , laughing. � Well let�s see if you think this is so funny� Before She could say a word, John went under and flipped the boat over, Pocahontas and all. When she surfaced, Pocahontas helped him turn the boat right-side up again. They paddled back to village and returned the rowboat back.
When they got to the village, Powhaton stopped them. �Pocahontas, I need to talk to you. Alone� �okay. John, I�ll meet you later for supper.� �Okay see you later� He gave her a quick kiss and was off. �Wha t is it dad?� she asked. �Pocahontas, I do not want that boyfriend of yours around here anymore.� Pocahontas was speechless �But why?� �Because I don�t. he�s irrisponsibe.� �Why is that� Pocahontas asked, her anger flaring �Why? Let�s start with the little horse escapade. Pocahontas, you could have been killed.� �That wasn�t John�s fault!� she said.�I don�t care if it was or not. He still could have at least told me what happened. I had to have one of the warriors find you. It�s either him or me. Take your pick.� �Fine him.� �What did you say!?� her father asked. �H-I-M him.� Pocahontas said. With that, she stormed out of the hut, leaving her surprised father behind.
