| The Cruelty of Love If love were meant to last forever, then our relationships ne'er sever. Yet with thy true face revealed, My dreadful heart no longer be sealed. The evil that is seen in pleasure, may be hidden in good measure. Though i feel great anguish for thee, a future I refuse to see. Many a tear was shed in pain, upon the bed on whence I'd lain. Now I steel myself in mind, to hide my feelings from mankind. Shallow men reside below, Where the devil bad'st them go. Those who drown in cruelty's love, rise to live with God above. |
