Background Info:
Set: EX Hidden Legends
Number: 22/101
Rarity: Rare

Type: Fire: All Ninetales are Fire. This one fits in well with all other Fire-types because it is designed to do ONE thing, damage.

Stage 1: Evolves from Vulpix: This section will get monotonous over the week but, oh well. Ascension Vulpix, pack 4 in your deck with some ways to look for them and you should have an insured Ninetales by turn 2.

HP: 70: Not great, not bad. It's a bit low for a Stage 1 but it's not horrible. Heal or whatever to keep Ninetales alive.

Weakness/Resistance: Weakness to Water, nearly all Fire-types have this so this section simply means, avoid Water decks and if you know your opponent is running one, don't use a single type Fire deck.

Retreat Cost: (C): Cheap, inexpensive, whatever you call it, 1 retreat is good.

Safeguard:
Helpful, but not something to base a deck around. Preventing EVERYTHING an EX's attack can do to you is very good. Effective staller if your opponent has an EX out, otherwise it's just extra ink.

Quick Attack:
Either you do 20 or you do 40, clean and simple. 20 isn't horrible for the energy, it's a bit low for a Stage 1 but it's not card breaking. 40 for (C)(C) however is good. This isn't a bad attack, just not good.

Will-'O-the-Wisp:
50 damage, 1 same type energy, 2 colorless energy. You've seen this attack before a MILLION times. Aqua's Lanturn, Crawdaunt, it's like whenever the card designers can't think of anything for a Stage 1 they decide to throw this on there. Now, it isn't bad for the damage. Compared to EARLY cards where you'd have to pay (*)(*)(C)(C) (* being the energy type of the Pokemon) or more just to do 50, on a Stage 2 as well, it isn't bad. However, the other two cards I mentioned that have this attack have advantages to add to it. TA's Lanturn can use it turn 2 with Auxilary Light and Crawdaunt boosts it's power with Power Pinchers. Ninetales just does a flat 50.

Deck Strategies: This isn't something to build a deck around. Just throw it in a Fire-type deck, maybe a Ninetales centered one or something, and it'll hold it's own. Otherwise, find something else.

Final Thoughts: It isn't a bad card, it's just not good. This card is average in every way. Period.
