English sounds - Japanese sounds - Music - Musical info
Musical info:
Here, you can find info I've gathered on the Black Moon family from the Sailor Moon musicals.
The titles of the most recent Sailor Moon musicals in Japan are "Tanjyou! Ankoku no Princess Black Lady" (Summer 2001) and "Wakusei Nemesis no Nazo" (Winter 2002), which translate to "Birth! Princess of Darkness, Wicked Lady" and "The Secret of Planet Nemesis", respectively. As you can tell by the titles, the Black Moon family features largely in both of them. ^_^
Cast:
Below is the cast list for the Black Moon family (for those not familiar with the Japanese character names, I changed them to their English equivalent).
Birth! Princess of Darkness, Wicked Lady
As you might've noticed, both Rubius and Bertie were left out of this musical, yet there are three original characters in the cast (the "Black Moon children" even have a duet). Another interesting fact is that the actress who plays Wicked Lady, Mao Kawasaki, was Sailor Mini Moon in one of the previous musicals.
However, one of the most notable things about this musical is that both Prince Diamond and Sapphire are played by women (which is odd, since both characters are male). It is also interesting to note that Sapphire's manga-only droids, Veneti and Aquatiki, both appear in the musical (why not Emerald's Chiral and Achiral, who appeared in the anime? Although that would lend to my "they needed more female roles" theory... ^_~)

I've also found cast listings for The Secret of Planet Nemesis musical (which is supposed to be a revision of first one), so here are the new Black Moon family cast members:
Wicked Lady - Shion Nakamaru
Wicked Lady, Catzi and Aquatiki all have new actresses, plus Rubius and Bertie have been added to the cast (the Spotted Tilmun character has been dropped, though his "children", Aron and Mana, remain in the cast). But the most interesting development is that Prisma has a new actor; yes, actor, not actress. That's right; Prisma is apparently going to be played by a man. 0_0 What's with all the gender-bending in these musicals? (Although... I wonder if they'll add the Sapphire/Prisma relationship in this revision... ^_~)
Songs:
These songs are listed by their track numbers from the first musical CD.
05 - Kekki! Hangyaku no Ichizoku (Rise to Action! Rebellious Family)
"Rise to Action! Rebellious Family" is the Black Moon family's group number, while "Rainbow-Colored Monochrome" is the aforementioned Black Moon children's duet. "Innocent Demand" is Prince Diamond's solo, with the word "Demand" being used as a play on Diamond's name; "Black Moon Signal" is only other Black Moon solo, this time sung by Wicked Lady (I kind of wonder if they meant to use the word "symbol", not "signal" in the song title).

Costumes:
As you can see in the picture above, the most notable omission in Prince Diamond's costume is the shoes; he doesn't sport his classic wingtips, but plain white shoes. In other respects, the costume is accurately modeled (though the stones on his jacket appear to be rectangular, not round, and there are rhinestones sprinkled across his jacket). And in one scene, Diamond wears a headband with his Third Eye on it, presumably to represent that particular power of his.
As for the other characters... Sapphire wears dark blue shoes, instead of white, and Emerald is wearing a chain belt, in addition to her usual costume (she also carries a green lace fan, instead of a pink feather one). Wicked Lady appears to be carrying her Silver Crystal like in the manga... However, the biggest costume change is Wiseman; although he is cloaked, as the Doom Phantom he wears an elaborate outfit.
In terms of the Four Sisters, Prisma is wearing light green bodysuit under her costume, while Avery has embellishments on her bodice, similar to Prisma's original outfit; plus, her costume is in gold (Catzi's looks fairly accurate).
In the second musical, Rubius's costume is based more on his manga version, in that he is wearing camoflage pants instead of plain brown ones; his jacket is also in camoflage material (and he actually wears it in some scenes! ^_~). But it is Bertie who perhaps has the most extreme costume alteration; in addition to wearing knee-high boots rather than to her usual thigh-high ones, she also wears a short, flared skirt. But what the heck is with the feather stuff on the back of her waist? 0_o I can understand making her costume less skimpy, but the feathers are just tacky (IMHO ^_^;).
Images:
I got all of these images from Cruel Angel's Labyrinth (though I've edited them for size).

And here are some group images:
Prince Diamond & Serena
The second picture looks like a scene lifted directly from the manga, where Prince Diamond is about to put the two Silver Crystals together, but Sailor Pluto prevents him by using Time Stop (this adds to my theory that the musical's plot may have been based on the manga ^_^). Oh, and take a good look at the bottom of the third picture; I believe that's an unconcious Sapphire and Emerald lying at Diamond's feet... -_-;

Cosplay:
The musicals seem to have inspired some Black Moon family costumes at recent anime conventions... Here are some photos from Anime Expo 2002 in L.A. (I found these at A Fan's View and the Sera-Myu Dai Suki! websites; the anime Emerald is courtesy of HellBelle ^_^).
