| Note about issue summaries: I order my issues through Mile High Comic's NICE program, and usually get them a few weeks later than everyone else. I post my reviews as soon as I get them. Negation Prequel: Beings of different races find themselves on an unknown world. The ones who have powers find using them can cause themselves harm. Obregon Kaine convinces the prisoners to march against their captors. Before they can march, the Nightwall hits and they fall unconscious.They awake to find themselves in some kind of prison with strange aliens called the Negation ruling over them. The prisoners get mad at Kaine, but Kaine believes things are off to a good start. Rating: 7/10 Negation #1: High Castellan Komptin discusses Kaine with his superior. He tells of how he has been keeping an eye on Kaine and awaiting his inevitable escape attempt. Komptin also tells his superior of a test he gave to Kaine and two other prisoners. It was a race, of sorts, and Kaine had a chance to win. Instead, he helped out a fellow prisoner. Komptin nearly killed Kaine for it, but Emperor Charon interceded and told Komptin not to kill Kaine because he interests him. Komptin now holds a grudge against Kaine. Rating: 9/10 Negation #2: Evinlea rescues Javi. She then tells him of an escape plan Kaine had told some the prisoners of. The plan involved capturing Komptin and using him as a hostage. Kaine lied. He knew Komptin would be listening and used it to create a diversion as Evinlea rescued Javi. The group of prisoners reach a ship. Mercer Drake, Westin, and a few others board the ship to make sure Westin can fly it. General Kryzorr activates an Extinction wave because he fears Komptin has lost control. Westin accidentially causes the ship to leave and abandon Kaine and the others. Evinlea, at Kaine's suggestion, manages to use her power to take a section of the prison with a few prisoners on it into space. Rating: 9/10 Negation #3: Kaine and the others are rescued by Captain Fluxor. Kaine convinces Fluxor to try and help them find their home. They fail and Kaine realizes they are in a completely different universe. Kaine tells Fluxor to head back to Negation space, because that is where they will get answers. Mercer Drake and the other escapees manage to evade the Negation, thanks in strong part to Drake's bravery. Komptin pleads his case with General Kryzorr, but Kryzorr sentences Komptin to death. Komptin goes to Lawbringer QZTR to appeal the decision. QZTR becomes interested in what Komptin has to say. Rating: 9/10 Negation #4:Komptin returns to General Kryzorr with new orders. Kryzorr is angry Komptin is not dead, but Lawbringer QZTR arrives to put the General in his place. Komptin gets a ship to hunt down the escapees. Komptin locates Captain Fluxor's ship, and sees that Kaine and Evinlea are onboard. He tries to destroy the ship, but they manage crash it beside a small settlement. They leave Captain Fluxor's crew behind. The lizard lady goes ahead to find information. Rating: 9/10 Negation #5: Komptin arrives on the planet to take charge of the Negation forces there. The lizard lady returns with information. They decide to try to steal a ship. Matua creates a diversion. Evinlea disobeys Kaine's orders and gets in the nearest ship, which is an amphibian ship. The others join her and are trapped as water rushes in. Matua gets them out. Kaine comes up with a plan. Rating: 8/10 Negation #6: The crew of Captain Fluxor's crew are being tortured. Kaine plans on rescuing them in order to get information on the nearest planet. Then Evinlea can teleport them to it. Captain Fluxor is brought to be executed. Kaine and the others arrive in the arena, and are attacked by Komptin's forces. The other members of Captain Fluxor's crew are killed in the battle. Evinlea gets the information from Fluxor and teleports them to the nearest planet. Evinlea finds Mercer Drake and decides to get revenge because she thinks he left them behind on the prison planet on purpose. Rating: 9/10 Negation #7: Emperor Charon interrogates a mysterious prisoner in order to get information about the universe the prisoner comes from. Komptin reports to Lawbringer QZTR and tells him of the events of the last issue. Lawbringer QZTR leaves to confront the prisoners, and Komptin decides he should be the one to kill Kaine. Evinlea beats Mercer Drake, but is then attacked by Shassa. Javi refueses to help Evinlea. Evinlea gets injured while trying to use her powers against Shassa. Javi heals her. Westin explains they did not mean to leave the prsoners behind. As they are making introductions, Lawbringer QZTR arrives and kills one of the prisoners. Rating: 8/10 Negation #8: Charon continues to interrogate the prisoner. Lawbringer QZTR attacks the prisoners, and kills many. Komptin communicates with his mother, and tells her hs is coming to pick up Gullit. Shassa attacks QZTR, but is defeated. QZTR passes judgement on some of the prisoners. Just as he is about to kill Kaine, Evinlea and Javi attack. QZTR separates them, and fires a blast at Zaida and her baby. Javi tries to save them and is hit. Rating: 9/10 Negation #9: Everyone is suprised by Javi's apparent death. QZTR tries to kill Zaida and baby Memi, and is suprised to discover they both survive his blast. He abducts the baby. The identity of Charon's prisoner is revealed. He is an Atlantean from Earth. His sigil works fine in Negation space. Komptin picks up Gullit, who is a fierce beast. QZTR brings the baby to Charon, and Charon experiences a feeling similar to the one he got with the Atlantean's sigil. Rating: 10/10 Negation #10: Charon does numerous tests to test the terminal threshold of baby Memi. Kaine and the others discuss recent events. Zaida tells the story of how she conceived Memi to Iress. Evinlea voices suspicions about Zaida and Memi survivng QZTR's blast. Kaine tells them it was just a near miss. Charon says boo to the baby, and finally manages to get it to cry. He picks Memi up and smiles. Rating: 10/10 |
