Neffs Boy Scout Troop 57 was founded on June 3rd, 1934. On May 31, 2009 Troop 57 will host a 75th Anniversary Celebration at the Neffs Union Lutheran Church

Come one…come all…

• Do you remember the burnt wood smell in your clothes after a campfire?
• Is Tuesday night your favorite night of the week?
• Do you remember those long hikes in the woods? Dutch oven cooking…. KP…. Tying knots and lashing things together???
• Do you remember waiting til the scout leaders were asleep and sneaking out of your tent??? Oops! Maybe not!

If you remember some of these things and there is a smile on your face, we are looking for you. Troop 57 is celebrating 75 years of scouting. We would love to invite you and your family and friends back for some good old fashioned scouting fun.

On April 21, we are having our quarterly Court of Honor at the lodge. We would like to invite you back to “look around” and reminisce a bit and see if your scouting skills are still up to standard. We will be serving refreshments. Pictures will be taken.

On May 31st, we will be having a celebration dinner at the Union Lutheran Church. There will be a buffet dinner and a short program with some fun surprises. Reservations are required. The cut off for reservations is May 22nd. The dinner will begin at 3:30. Tickets are $15.00 per person. If you have some mementos from scouting (pictures, old badges and patches, etc.), that you would like to share with us, we will have tables set up to display them. If you have any pictures that you can share with us electronically, that would be great also. (see below)

We are also asking all former scouts to fill out our “memory” form whether you can attend our celebrations or not. We will be compiling them into a book to be put in the archives with the troop’s history. You can fill it out by hand and bring it with you, drop it off at the lodge, or fill it out and email it back to one of us listed below. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us!
