5. Boundaries of Neighborhood: Washington Avenue on north, Kentucky on east,  

                                                              Riverside on south, and Garvin on west.

 

6. Neighbor Description of Neighborhood:

 

(Affirmed 1997 Action Plan)

 

 

7. Descriptions of “Ideal Livable Neighborhood”:

 

Ø      Clean and quiet

Ø      Helping/caring for neighbors

Ø      Increased efforts at upkeep and flower planting can be a “contagious disease”

Ø      Sharing information with other neighborhoods

 

 

8. Agreed-Upon Goals:

 

(Affirmed 1997 Action Plan Goals):

 

Ø      Elimination of nuisance

Ø      Preservation of neighborhood character

Ø      Increased recognition for the neighborhoods

Ø      Improve public safety

Ø      Improvement of public space

Ø      Sensitive and effective traffic planning

9. Goals, Objectives and Responsibilities:

 

(Per 1997 Tepe Park Action Plan):

 

Goal #1: ELIMINATION OF NUISANCE

 

Objectives:

 

Ø      Investigate feasibility of environmental court

Ø      Block-by-bloc improvement program

Ø      Give property maintenance and improvement awards

Ø      “Declare War” on critical neighborhood problems

Ø      Continue to register complaints with proper agencies

 

Goal #2: PRESERVATION OF NEIGHBORHOOD CHARACTER

 

Objectives:

 

Ø      Establish a systematic neighborhood inspection of all structures

Ø      Support and encourage participation in ownership programs

Ø      Develop visual guidelines for new construction and modify existing codes

Ø      Create a pamphlet marketing neighborhoods to potential residents and investors

Ø      Align with existing CDC or develop neighborhood CDC

Ø      Investigate the need and benefit of down-zoning

 

Goal #3: IMPROVE PUBLIC SAFETY

 

Objectives:

 

Ø      Increased participation in neighborhood watch program

Ø      Establish a “crime prevention through environmental design” task force

Ø      Initiate a “safewalk” project
