Ø      State hospital ground near

Ø      Established

Ø      Mixed demographics

Ø      Neighbors get along

Ø      Improving in cleanliness and beautification

Ø      Three churches

Ø      Schools nearby

Ø      Convenient food establishments

 

7.      Descriptions of “Ideal Neighborhood”:

 

Ø      Responsible landlords

Ø      Better rental property upkeep

Ø      Prohibit expansion of “slum” landlord home purchases

Ø      Re-evaluation of traffic and parking  by city

Ø      Re-evaluation of dangerous intersections

Ø      Better controlled traffic and parking

Ø      Schools provide their own parking for students

Ø      Curb repair

Ø      Yellow lines extended

Ø      Better control of alley traffic and noise

     Neighborhood Objectives:

Ø      Education blitz (Brochures, workshops, etc)

Ø      Supports and encouragement awards

Ø      Offer help

Ø      Report violators

Ø      Turn on pressure

 

     Neighborhood Institutions Objectives:

           

Ø      Maintain U of E student properties

Ø      Educate students on how to be responsible

Ø      Partnership with neighborhood for improvements

 

     City Objectives:

 

Ø      Enforce code laws

Ø      Utilize housing court

Ø      To not misuse the neighborhood
