| In need for speed underground 2 there so many hidden shops and places to race it is impossible to find them in one day. The new nitrous meter system is very unique. It is better because as you race you regain your nitrous if your out. You do this by leading a lap, getting neer accidents and power slinding. You can also fill your meter up double the amount by your style rating. The better your rating the faster it fills. |
| There are also three new race modes. Street-X , Downhill Drift and Showcase. There is also another race that you can do while your driving around. It's called Outrun. Outrun is where you find a challenger on your SMG, pull up beside him and challenge him. The race will automatically start when you challenge. The object is to lead your opponent by 1000 feet in order to loose him if do that you will win but it's not that easy. |
| Showcase is an event where you have to race to a photographer so you can appear on the cover of a magazine or a DVD cover. You are timed to get there but if you don't make in time it will allow you to restart. |
